DESTINY'S CHILD MUSICAL BEING DEVELOPED BY BEYONCÉ’S DAD MATTHEW KNOWLES

Beyoncé’s dad reveals he is developing a musical about Destiny’s Child.

The hit 1990s girl group – whose most successful line-up included Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams – were managed by Beyoncé’s dad Matthew Knowles who, in a statement, revealed he is working on a musical about the girl group.

He said: “I want to pull back the curtain. I feel it’s time to give the world an opportunity to hear, see and feel the victories and failures that I’ve had as a husband, father and manager who risked everything in pursuit of fulfilling dreams – those of mine and others.”

Called Survivor: The Destiny’s Child Musical, the production will be developed for Broadway and West End stages and is set to premiere next year as the launch of a tour.

The musical will ‘bare an honest depiction of the achievements, obstacles and evolution of the world’s most iconic girl group and the mastermind behind them’, his statement reads.

I'm not sure what my thoughts on this are, on the one hand, a musical with Destiny's Child and solo musical could be absolutely incredible but the fact that it's being helmed by Matthew is really off putting for me (and will be for a lot of die-hard fans). We'll see if this ends up going ahead...
