Two well-respected Kylie singles released 25 years ago - which is your favourite? |

I love them both for such different reasons I don’t think I could chose - CIM is a career defining piece of pure brilliance, PYIMP at the time was an understated nod back to her pop roots - I listen to both still a lot now. |

I think we all you know you adore Confide In Me!
I voted Put Yourself in My Place, the song has a timeless feel, it doesn't sound 25 years old. |

Put Yourself In My Place doesn't get a 50th of the recognition Confide In Me gets.
PYIMP is well known and and liked among fans here on Buzzjack but not so much elsewhere. |

A real battle with these 2 songs with the voting remaining neck and neck.

OK, I chose CIM but this was so so so hard!! Both are perfect pop songs, and seem to sound better with age.

Leaving aside my opinion of the song confide in me hasnt aged badly at all but I think PYIMP has aged better.

Hmmm, I feel like 'Confide in Me' sounds more timeless whereas with PYIMP you can tell it's distinctly a mid-90s ballad.

Confide in me represents a time in the 90s when artists were trying to evolve the sound of pop in the 90s. Put yourself in my place has more could be released anytime as ballads are part of all decades.

Both fall into the category of singles that have aged well for Kylie. These songs for example have aged much better than singles such as In Your Eyes which is a single that i believe has aged very badly.

I think 'In Your Eyes' encapsulates the sort of funky/groovy house sound that was very "in" around that point in 2001/2002 but I love it for that.
I still feel the production on it sounds so cool. This post has been edited by Tawdry Hepburn: 24th September 2019, 01:30 PM |

It is a very of its time song and does have the funky/groovy house sound as does much of the songs on Fever.
Fever as an album, i quiet enjoy, but like In Your Eyes, many of its tracks sound extremely dated and represent the time it was released and this has both positives and negatives. |
