V2 :

YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.
2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range
3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)
4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.
5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.
6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

Thank you.

Only since 2016 actually, but that was Adeleís second year on top.

Iím gutted Pink will miss the top 20, itís a great album but it hasnít picked up at all. I expect at least Coldplay, Rod and Ball & Boe will overtake before the end.

Any chance Kylie has re-entered the top 50 albums? 92.5k? Top 60 at least?

The Pink album seemed to come very quickly after the previous one and only really the first single did well with the public.

If she bothered to have a consistent promo campaign this side of its release then I could have seen this album climbing it's way to Platinum by now. It annoys me when artists leave the album to die like that, Madonna was the same with Madame X. There was much more to offer. sad.gif

I have figures, but since most of them pre-date the OCC's takeover of chart compilation, them may not be complete.

2406k ??
1478k ?
746k
1928k ??
785k (no way!)
948k (no f-ing way!!)

To November 2002 Slade had sold 1,007,500 and Band Aid were on 3,550,000. Most of those would also be pre-1994 sales (pre OCC sales) since I don't think either single was given a physical re-release from 1994 to 2002. So that would make Slade on 1.792m and Band Aid about 4.5m in total.

The original Band Aid track was also on 'Do They Know It's Christmas' by Band Aid 20 (it's track 2) and that sold just over a million so unofficially the original Band Aid single has sold over 5.5m copies.

crazy that the Ed album looks certain not to go Double Platinum this year
when his previous did 672K on week 1 alone

It's 300k for a platinum album (not 600k). Anyway week 1 comparisons with that long ago are a bit meaningless as so many people have switched to streaming so their album 'sales' come over a much longer time (it would be virtually impossible to generate 300k album sales from streams in a week).
