Afternoon all! Hope y'all had a lovely Christmas As always, NO SPOILERS PLEASE - this includes even hinting at what the #1 might be! Everything's a spoiler until revealed on Radio 1 Also I'm gonna ask you all to bear with me today - the prep this week was a NIGHTMARE (I've prepared 35 Christmas songs without even counting those already top 40 ) and there's likely to be errors. I think I've prepped every song but if there's a surprise thrown in, please bear with me! I'll be doing my best
Hoping Mariah can do it today though I have a bad feeling she won't |

Last year I wasn’t bothered about Mariah getting the #1 cause I loved Sweet But Psycho too but this year I’m really hoping she gets there cause I’m not keen on the competition
Ellie getting to #1 will be one of the most bizarre and unpredictable number ones in a long time |

would love to see Mariah finally get #1 after 25 years, otherwise if it can't be her then Ellie as I really love the song and Stormzy will be #1 next week anyway (although 'River' is clearly not deserving of #1 and would look a bit iffy if it actually got there).

Looking forward to this, might be the last time we ever see, let alone hear, a Top 40 like this! A very open race, wouldn't completely rule out Wham! either.

We appreciate it! |

Watch out for the panic when Gary Glitter's Christmas song makes a surprise reappearance You say this, but you never know, maybe it's become an Amazon exclusive :') You go far and above the call of duty on a Friday chart Joseph(especially round this time of year when old songs re-enter) so take as long as you need. We appreciate it! Cheers for the kind words Steve! It's been a hectic week of prep especially with the end of year + end of decade chart prep too...! (see this thread for anyone who's not spotted it yet, please feel free to join us!!!) |

I'll be doing my best Even the sales topic was a bit of a nightmare, as I couldn't gauge what was likely to get sales tonight. Hopefully I can rectify the top 40 when the countdown begins. That's if they are revealing the Official Top 40 single charts tonight |

That's if they are revealing the Official Top 40 single charts tonight There's no mention of it being anything other than the official top 40, so I'd be surprised if that isn't what we get! If it does happen to be an End of Year chart, at least I've got that prepped too |

Don't forget guys EOY Top 100 on Buzzjack from 2PM on Sunday! We'll still run it if it turns out they're doing half EOY/half regular chart tonight too, can't be letting all Joseph's hard work go to waste.
Won't be able to make tonight as ever which is a shame as this seems like one of the most exciting/unpredictable charts we've had in a long while. |
