Clean Bandit really sticks out like a sore thumb in that 2015 top 10! Majority of those were pretty big hits and still well-known today. I couldn't tell you how Stronger goes and I'm a big fan of CB ://

Also 10 years since Diana's #1 *.* I remember following that particular chart laugh.gif

Also I'm fairly confident Captain Tom will be #1 - last min sales pushes tend to do even better than we could predict. To be fair the #1 is not that important its how well it does on sales!

Nothing Really Matters

Biography

TiŽsto
Born Tijs Michiel Verwest in the small Dutch city of Breda in 1969, TiŽsto went on to become more than just a world-famous electronic musicianóhe largely created the model for a powerhouse DJ in the 21st century. He got his start in the mid-í80s, when the skeletal sounds of Belgian new beat ruled Hollandís clubs, but it was tranceósleeker and more emotiveóthat moved him. His first proper DJ mix , 1997ís Magik One (First Flight), showcases his signature style in dreamy synth melodies drawn out above tough but streamlined drum grooves. As tranceís foremost ambassador, he pioneered stadium raving with solo DJ concerts in sports arenas; in 2004, he played for millions at the Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Athens. And his Club Life weekly radio show and mix series, one of tranceís premier global platforms, became synonymous with the genre itself. But you donít become the worldís No. 1 DJ by sitting still. By 2011ís Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas, TiŽsto was following through on a shift that had begun with his 2009 album, Kaleidoscope, a blend of high-energy trance and airy pop melodies that heralded the next big rave revolution: EDM. With 2014ís A Town Called Paradise, he made good on EDMís anything-goes promise with a collection encompassing soaring toplines, massive drops, and other big-room thrills without turning his back on the aching melodies that made his name. As the decade drew to a close, playful collabs with a new generation of producers who had come up in his wakeóThe Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, DJ Snake, Hardwellóonly served to confirm his versatility and cement his legacy. - iTunes

Becky Hill
With her highly resonant voice and R&B-influenced style, Becky Hill first came to the public's attention competing on series one of The Voice UK. Ultimately reaching the show's semifinal round, Hill emerged a fan favorite and became the first Voice UK contestant to score a number one single when "Gecko (Overdrive)," her collaboration with Dutch EDM star Oliver Heldens, topped the U.K. singles chart in June 2014.

Born on February 14, 1994 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England, Hill was no stranger to music when she first auditioned for the then new The Voice UK in 2012. As a teenager, she had sung with the acoustic rock & soul group Shaking Trees, which created some local buzz and received several plays on BBC Radio. On The Voice UK she made it to the semifinal with her powerful renditions of R&B songs by the likes of John Legend and others, before being eliminated. By her own admission, she was a novice in the music industry game and it took her 18 months to finally get a record deal. In the meantime, however, her sultry, soulful, older-than-her-years voice was highly sought-after by dance artists looking for feature vocalists. Her first recorded appearance, on British drum'n'bass artist Wilkinson's single "Afterglow," went to number eight on the U.K. singles chart. She then appeared on Rudimental's single "Powerless," singing with them at several U.K. festivals in 2013, including Glastonbury.

Following her success with Heldens, Hill worked extensively with London-based dance producer MNEK and issued her debut solo single, "Caution to the Wind." It showcased a shift toward a more electronica-influenced sound, with twinkling melodies and production reminiscent of Four Tet. The Eko EP appeared in 2017, and included the single "Unpredictable." The single "Sunrise in the East" followed a year later. In 2019, Hill issued a pair of upbeat singles, "I Could Get Used to This," which featured Weiss, and "Wish You Well," which featured Sigala.

Biography

Born Jordan Carter in the south side of the city, Carti grew up listening to Prince, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Lil Jon, Gucci Mane, and Jeezy, starting his music career in high school under the name Sir Cartier. His early work was produced by Awful Records' in-house man Ethereal. Tracks like the narcotic "YUNGXANHOE" and "Lost" helped him garner a local following, were promoted on the Internet, and notched millions of streams. After graduating, he moved to the Bronx, where he became acquainted with members of A$AP Mob. In early 2015 at a show at SXSW, Carti met A$AP main man A$AP Rocky, who took Carti under his wing. A month later, Carti issued the singles "Broke Boi" and "Fetti," which became viral hits. Tours with Lil Uzi Vert and A$AP Ferg followed before Carti signed a deal with Interscope Records. Backed by A$AP Rocky, Carti appeared on A$AP Mob's Cozy Tapes tracks "Telephone Calls" and "London Town." After years of generating interest with singles, Carti released his debut mixtape, Playboi Carti, in the spring of 2017. The collection featured appearances by Lil Uzi Vert, A$AP Rocky, and singer Leven Kali. He followed that up in 2018 with the release of his studio debut, Die Lit, which featured guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Skepta, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and Chief Keef, among others. Upon release, the set peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and rose to number two on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. - iTunes

Afternoon all hi.gif back to not being able to listen live again but here are some retro chart top 3s before I get back to work kink.gif

2019
01. Billie Eilish - bad guy
02. Lil Nas X - Old Town Road
03. Meduza - Piece Of Your Heart (feat. Goodboys)

Billie an easy favourite here despite overplay. I guess all three of these were hammered though laugh.gif My opinion of her really turned around from 'You Should See Me In A Crown' onward! Up to that point I found her output quite basic but now I look forward to anything she releases.

2015
01. Years & Years - King
02. Dr Kucho! & Gregor Salto - Can't Stop Playing (Makes Me High) (feat. Ane Brun)
03. Major Lazer & DJ Snake - Lean On (feat. Mō)

This was definitely the year where the quality of chart music started declining for me - I blame tropical house and Capital-pandering basic pop kink.gif These three songs are great though - 'King' is amongst the best of the #1 hits that year and the other two were more interesting dance tunes to come out of 2015. 'Can't Stop Playing (Makes Me High)' already feels like quite the forgotten gem!

2010
01. Kelis - Acapella
02. Diana Vickers - Once
03. Plan B - She Said

Oh 'Acapella' was such a wonderful lead from Kelis *.* and they got Diana's debut bang on - shame her chart career didn't amount to much longevity.

2005
01. Will Smith - Switch
02. Caesers - Jerk It Out
03. Bodyrockers - I Like The Way You Move

Three songs with great production here *.* Shame that the vocals on 'I Like The Way You Move' are on the creepy side though kink.gif

2000
01. Fragma - Toca's Miracle
02. Sweet Female Attitude - Flowers
03. Craig David - Fill Me In

Dance music continuing to thrive cheeseblock.png forever sad about 'Toca's Miracle' not being available to stream.

Team Weeknd. Fantastic that a lot of money has been raised and that's the most important thing. The song itself is painful to listen to...

Not a great top 10 this time last year, no where near the quality it is now - but bad guy, Old Town Road and Piece of Your Heart all remain amazing
