I'm working on a project and have looked everywhere to find a UK chart breakdown by genre..Still yet to find one. Does anyone have/know where to find a list of every UK number 1 single, with genres next to them? For example it'd be good to know how many drum and bass songs got to number 1, or how many UK garage songs made it. Of course I could go through them manually but it's rather time consuming.

I don't think you'll ever get any kind of definitive or official list because in so many cases the genre of a song is a matter of opinion, and so many hits include elements of different genres. Even the most clear-cut genres can be split into subgenres.
That said, I can only think of one Number One that's ever been described as drum and bass ('Hot Right Now' by DJ Fresh). |

I think Sigma would fall into that category too? |

I've compiled a Dance/Electronic UK #1s list, which can be viewed here (and I suppose I should give it a little update). I've attempted to categorise them all by sub-genre too.
As for drum n' bass I count Hot Right Now, plus both Sigma number ones and Rudimental's first two. |

I wouldn't seriously disagree with any of those either, but that just shows how arguable it is I suppose.

Hot Right Now was the 1st one but Feel The Love and Waiting All Night by Rudimental came after, and the Sigma ones as someone else said. Maybe others as well, I can't remember off the top of my head. DJ Fresh also got the 1st ever dubstep #1, so he did it with 2 genres! Other dubstep #1s I can think of are Promises by Nero, Stay Awake by Example and RIP by Rita Ora (I know people will disagree with the latter two because they're by pop stars but they are both 140 bpm with dubstep drum patterns and are produced by Nero and Chase & Status respectively, so I don't see why they shouldn't count). |

That's true, I was thinking more a of a set of 2 or 3 genres like on Wikipedia |

Thankfully we've already had 2 this year with Roses and Rain on Me. PS you seem to be missing 'Young' by Tulisa for 2012! |
