Found this article by Alan Jones in an old Record Mirror.

Note: One album is equivalent to 6 singles.

Boney M top 10?

As Alan says "some of these figures are plucked out of the air". If anyone wants to update these figures from 38 years ago feel free to provide your guesstimates. (including downloads and streams)

Beatles - 350 million albums X 6 = 2,100 plus 120 million singles = 2,200 million records?
