It's Chriiiiiistmaaaas! No it's not Slade on top, that had a peak of 2 back in the 80's for me, it's my all-time fave Xmas record, these days, the semi-classical and brilliant I Believe In Father Christmas, which now grabs it's 10th week at number one, on it's 5th occasion since first topping over Christmas 1975 when I bought the vinyl single in between Bohemian Rhapsody and Mamma Mia topping my chart. That was one hell of a classic trio of chart-toppers! Almost making the top spot for a 2nd time, Freiheit's equally fabulous Keeping The Dream Alive has to settle for a number 2, and Air's Ce Matin-La at 3 making it a 70's/80's/90's top 3 wipeout.

George Michael also goes top 10 for the first time with the gorgeous December Song, a decade late, and one of the few George tracks that fell short up until now. Big climbs for Sega Bodega & Halsey, Chris Rea's perennial Driving Home For Christmas, Miley Cyrus's Night Crawling giving Billy Idol his first top 20 since 2015, while Suzi Quatro gets her first top 30 since 2011. Meduza is the biggest climber into the 40, and highest new entry comes from Gwen Stefani, her first entry since her Christmas goodie with hubbie Blake Shelton in 2017, Let Me Re-introduce Myself at 56 giving her solo action of 16 years, including 3 chart-toppers, or 23 years of No Doubt-ing.

Paul McCartney has McCartney III out - it doesn't seem like 40 years since McCartney II! I've cherry-picked the most fun, and most-interesting tracks, everything you hear is Macca. Find My Way is in at 59, just ahead of The Beatles Here, There & Everywhere (a McCartney song) which dropped into the itunes sales chart, giving me a perfect excuse to chart an album track gem that has never made my charts before. Hard to believe, but there are still Beatles classics that have never charted for me! Taylor Swift's new folkie ballad Willow debuts, Alicia Keys new reggae-thumper pops in, Blossoms late Xmas effort is new, Dolly Parton makes it 44 years of chart hits with a Xmas duet with Miley Cyrus, who still has 4 tracks listed despite one dropping out,and finally J-Lo is back - her first in 4 years, and sounding like early-era Ms Lopez. That'll be 21 years since I bought Waiting For Tonight on CD single in Orlando while on holiday.
