OK, we here go pop pickers, it’s the U2 rate!

We’ll get the rate going officially from next Wednesday (12 June), but before then I’d like to give everyone an opportunity to nominate one U2 track that isn’t on the below list of hit singles. Please post your nomination in this thread - just one per user. I’ll accept any official U2 release, be it on an EP, album, single that didn’t chart, or B side etc. Also solo work can be considered.

Please post your nominations for your wildcard by 23:59 on Tuesday 11 June. Achtung Baby!

A question about Even Better Than the Real Thing springs to mind. It charted twice in 2 different versions. Are we only to rate the standard single version and not the Oakenfold remix?

Also Bullet the Blue Sky is a great choice. That's one down from my list of 5 potentials to suggest.

Re: Even Better…, I’ve always classified remixes as the same single as the original, despite what the OCC tells me haha. This is distinct from re-recordings - so the Mary Blige duet gets a separate entry. Hope I’m not being too controversial? smile.gif

My knowledge of U2 isn’t deep enough to wildcard but if someone wants to suggest a few possibilities I’d be happy to listen to them and pick my favourite. I imagine others may be in that boat too. smile.gif

THIS!!!!

But since it's already been nominated i'll give my wildcard to God Pt II.

Will need to do some general extra listening for the sake of this rate though, i'm not hugely knowledgable of their whole discography.

In God's Country was a hit. It was a US single that charted here on import. it's in the list already, thankfully

+1

Sunday Bloody Sunday must be more known than 75% of that list.

Thanks - I like “Sunday Bloody Sunday” but I’ll go for “Numb” as I found it the most interesting.
