 HELLO. Last year I made it a mission to collect all of the songs that won a lot of the rates across Buzzjack and I planned to make one BIG rate with them all. Now it's time for the RESULTS! HAILEE STEINFELD - LOVE MYSELF [This Rate Avg. 6.36] [Rate Winning Avg. 9.7] Highest Scores: Cameron, MrAndrewMan & Riser [11] + Ultra's Version & X leww X [10] Lowest Scores: Dobbo [00] + Viper* [01] Finishing right at the very bottom is, I'm actually pretty surprised ngl... HAILEE STEINFELD - LOVE MYSELF. This huge, anthemic pop banger became a massive internet fave in 2015. Many predicted that this actress would go on to have a huge pop career... alas... 6 years later and we're still awaiting for an actual album, despite releasing singles every once in a while since. A storming pop song that not only deerved to be a massive hit, but did not deserve to finish dead last in this rate! With 3 11's and 2 10's too! --- 038 HALSEY - NIGHTMARE [This Rate Avg. 6.46] [Rate Winning Avg. 9.4] Highest Scores: Ultra's Version & MrAndrewMan [10] + LMLou [09.5] Lowest Scores: Dobbo [-01] + Tombo [02] Up next we have HALSEY - NIGHTMARE. One of the most out there, gutsy and punchy singles from a main lady in pop in recent memory tbh. It's absolute FIRE. The chorus is really aggressive, explosive and in your face, whilst the verses are quite subtle, but I think that's why it works so well. It feels like it packs a much harder and more impacting punch. One that I am not surprised as I can definitely see it dividing a lot of casuals. My favourite Halsey song! I'm surprised it won it's rate and quite far ahead of 2nd place and the more radio friendly 'You Should Be Sad'! --- 037 PIXIE LOTT - CRY ME OUT [This Rate Avg. 6.51] [Rate Winning Avg. 8.54] Highest Scores: George.keh, NickF1 & Calum [10] + LMLou & Eduardo [09.5] Lowest Scores: Viper* [-01] + X leww X, HausofArgento & Tombo [03] PIXIE LOTT - CRY ME OUT is next at #37. A soaring pop power ballad with that retro sound that the late 00's were basking in. Not gonna lie, this winning the entire Pixie Lott vs Jessie J rate that we did is a bit... *side eye*. It's not her best and I genuinely didn't think it'd out do Jessie's bests - who is actually still to come! But then it did "only" receive a 8.54 average which seems to be quite low for a winner. I like this though. I just never really go back to it tbh. --- 036 MEGHAN TRAINOR - NO [This Rate Avg. 6.53] [Rate Winning Avg. 9.2] Highest Scores: Ultra's Version & Tombo [11] + ...ready for it, Dobbo, Tafty, Jade, JosephStyles & Riser [10] Lowest Scores: SevenSeize & Calum [-01] + HausofArgento [00] Ending this section we have MEGHAN TRAINOR - NO. Not sure it's surprising that this song was the song to win Meghan Trainor's singles rate when Buzzjack's primary audience is very nostalgia heavy and with this song perfectly resembling the late 90's/early 00's pop sound, it was only ever going to be at least in contention to win. It's incredibly catchy and encapsulates that nostalgia to great success. 2 -1's and a 00 couldn't hinder this as it manages to avoid the very bottom but unfortunately it is still a casualty of being in the first batch of songs to leave us </3 |

Aww Cry Me Out is one of my absolute faves- such a lovely ballad and she sounds extraordinary on it.
The rest are really great pop tunes even if there are songs by each respective artist I’d put above Nightmare and Love Myself (AFTERLIFE RIGHTS) |

MCFLY - OBVIOUSLY [This Rate Avg. 6.70] [Rate Winning Avg. 10.17] Highest Scores: Ultra's Version [10] + Dexton [09.5] Lowest Scores: George.keh [02] + HausofArgento [03] At number 35 we have MCFLY - OBVIOUSLY. The song was a big number 1 hit and it was the 2nd of 7 #1's for them. Such a catchy bop! I was surprised it won McFly's singles rate as I was sure it'd be either 'All About You' or 'Shine A Light', but this actually managed to get a score of 10.17! Great song and is ultimately underrated nowadays. --- 034 ONE DIRECTION - STORY OF MY LIFE [This Rate Avg. 7.04] [Rate Winning Avg. 9.4] Highest Scores: NickF1 & MrAndrewMan [10] + Chapman, Riser & Jay [09.5] Lowest Scores: Dobbo [00] + LMLou [03.5] At #34 is ONE DIRECTION - STORY OF MY LIFE which was apparently not a number 1 for them! I could've sworn it did get there lmao. A power mid-tempo ballad, this was sure to hit every 1D fan in the feels. Along with their debut smash, I'd probably argue that this is their signature song. It's very mature for them. The video is adorable too, with their families. A good song. --- 033 CIARA - LIKE A BOY [This Rate Avg. 7.16] [Rate Winning Avg. 9.5] Highest Scores: NickF1 [10] + Tafty, Alohomora & Riser [09.5] Lowest Scores: LMLou [03.5] + Klumzee [04] Last in this section is CIARA - LIKE A BOY which, rather surprisingly, stormed to victory in the Ciara rate. Don't get me wrong, I love this, but I couldn't quite believe it managed to out rate 'Goodies', '1, 2 Step' or 'Lose Control' to victory. The strings in this though... gorgeous! Such a brilliant female empowerment banger. I'm just pleased to see it avoided being in the bottom section tbh, even though it deserves higher! |

'Nightmare' is great but I'm very surprised that it won the Halsey rate. I like seeing all the rate averages from each winner's respective rate. |
