1. A Simple Glitch of the Heart 2. Thinking About You 3. The Wrong Place 4. Belgium in the Rain (love this title!) 5. Lift Me Up 6. If You'd Really Know Me 7. One Big Lie 8. Circus 9. Full Moon Duel 10. Hidden Stories If this ain't indie enough, feel free to move to pop. They used to be much less pop but I'm not sure where this should go tbh. Anyway I've loved Hooverphonic's music for years, overall I find the older stuff more intriguing, it's kinda on another level at times! But their later work is more 'lush indie-ish pop' (?) which is still very nice indeed. With them representing Belgium in this year's Eurovision with 'The Wrong Place' (included on this album), I figured it would be cool to have this thread here, maybe it will find/has found some fans. I'm really enjoying this and I also like the cover. Some really nice instrumentation and melodies here. I'm still letting the album sink in but the opening track is a new fave! 'One Big Lie' is another one of my highlights. |

Shouldn't this be moved to the Eurovision forum?

I think they're well known enough outside of the contest x

I checked this out yesterday and really enjoyed it.
Circus, Hidden Stories, Thinking About You and Belgium In The Rain all stood out to me. The Wrong Place is a great Eurovision entry too. The band themselves seem a bit miserable but they do make the type of music I love, and have for many years! |

The Eurovision track is actually one of my least favourites on this album 😬 Not bad but I really feel like they could've done something way more interesting for the contest. Their sound can be so lush and beautiful.
My favourite album from them is still their debut - A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular from 1996. Just cos it majorly appeals to my trip-hoppy senses It really is such a magical and well-produced piece of work! |

Also I can't believe they have 11 albums 🤯
They have some truly fantastic songs imo! Some personal faves include 'Tuna', 'Battersea', 'Inhaler', 'Wardrope', 'The Magnificent Tree', 'One', 'Human Interest', 'Ginger', 'Anger Never Dies', 'In Wonderland' etc. This post has been edited by Moomin Troll: 21st May 2021, 10:20 PM |

Have been a huge fan for years, but was quite underwhelmed by both their Eurovision entries.

I often like this type of music but their Eurovision entry did nothing for me.
