Hi, I've just been updating my signature (to add the Euros banner, everyone discuss btw!) and when I clicked on the 'update signature' button I'm getting the error below. My signature did still update so it's not a massive issue but wondering if anyone else is getting this?

Same here. Thanks for reporting it Pete! Didn't even occur to me to report it because I honestly just thought the error was on my end
(Also can we admire how from top to bottom, the repliers on this thread have signatures that get progressively larger each time ) |

So is this going to be a permanent issue until the new site is live? Or will it be fixed anytime soon? I know it’s more or an inconvenience than an actual issue given that the signatures still update, but nonetheless it is still annoying to see when it was never the case before.

Hey Joseph, just wondered if there was anything you could do as admin to fix this issue that's remained in place for a few years now. It never used to be this way.

Always been fine for me too - I've got no idea what's causing this!

Here's a typical error page I'm presented with, similar to what Pete posted earlier in the thread;
Ultimately it doesn't leave any option to return to the homepage so I have to close the tab and then open a new one. So the fact it's not affecting all users when they change their signature suggests something is embedded into the coding causing it to glitch for a select few. I'd also be interested to know if any of the original members in this thread who reported the issue in the past are still prone to it happening in 2024? |

I get the same error message when BJSC is running and I update my sig to highlight my current entry. Something to do with particular images, or the image hosting sites we use?
My sig always updates ok but that message always comes up first before I refresh. |

I've never had this message confusingly! Not sure I'd know how to fix it either I must confess.

I've not updated my signature in a while but fairly sure the error was still there the last time it did!
Ah well, Buzzjack wouldn't be be Buzzjack without its little glitches would it |

My sig always updates ok but that message always comes up first before I refresh. Rich did it! He has solved the issue, it is indeed something to do with the source of the image hosting website used. It seems that most are problematic to the forum coding, but the one both Bré and Joseph are currently using without any problems is Imgur, so I would recommend everyone switches to that for their signature images and gifs in the future! Thank you very much Rich for figuring this out! |

Pretty much the error is due to the inability to limit file size from some external services. I got this all the time when trying to update my BJSC contest gifs.
