Afternoon all, I can listen live today as I have the day off work happy.gif rooting for 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' in the top 5!

Retro top 3s:

2020
01. Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me
02. Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar
03. AJ Tracey feat. MoStack - Dinner Guest

'Watermelon Sugar' still hanging around in the chart even now laugh.gif I had forgotten about 'Dinner Guest' but that grew on me so much in the end, need to revisit it!

2016
01. Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson - Tears
02. Kungs vs. Cookin On 3 Burners - This Girl
03. Drake feat. Wizkid & Kyla - One Dance

...I definitely don't return to 'Tears' nearly enough either, but I loved that. It's a shame that Louisa fizzled out pretty quickly in the charts as she's very talented.

2011
01. Lady Gaga - The Edge of Glory
02. Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
03. Ed Sheeran - The A Team

The 'Born This Way' era was such a big part of my teen years musically.

Ed still dominating the chart 10 years down the line. 'The A Team' is definitely one of his best songs for me <3

2006
01. Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie
02. Nelly Furtado - Maneater
03. Muse - Supermassive Black Hole

Wow that was difficult to cut down to just three favourites. Shoutout to 'She Moves In Her Own Way' too!

2001
01. Gorillaz - 19/2000
02. DJ Pied Piper & Masters of Ceremonies - Do You Really Like It?
03. Shaggy feat. Reyvon - Angel

The Soulchild remix of '19/2000' is such a tune! I remember the 'Demon Days' era at the time but that remix, on my parents' copy of Now 49, was my gateway to properly checking out their discography, after deciding I liked enough Gorillaz songs by that point to want to do so *.*

Come With Me

Non-album single
Released: 25th June 2021
Label: Ministry of Sound Recordings

Biography

Riton
Henry Smithson (born 13 September 1978), best known by his stage name Riton (/ˈriːtɒn/ REE-ton), is an English electronic music DJ and producer. - Wikipedia

Bad Boy Chiller Crew
Bradford’s BBCC are MCs Kane, GK, Clive managed by Darren Booth aka “Dr Google”. Deeply influenced by the ‘bassline house’ clubbing heritage they grew up around in the North of England as well as emergent UK and US rap. The boys’ have created something of their own new sound, lacing pacey 4x4 bass-quakes with a frantic lyrical fire that veers from infectious ear-worm hooks to wry observational punchlines. Think The Streets meet T2’s ‘Heartbroken’. Embracing the term ‘charva’ as a way-of-life, together they channel the nuances and absurdities of northern street life into hugely addictive tunes. The new single 'Don't You Worry About Me' is out now, and the debut mixtape ‘Full Wack No Breaks’ was released summer 2020. - Spotify

MIST featuring Burna Boy
Rollin'

Non-album single
Released: 24th June 2021
Label: Sickmode Records

Video

Biography

Birmingham-based grime MC Mist rose out of the mid-2010s grime resurgence, proving that you don't have to be from London to be taken seriously in U.K. rap circles. Mist, like most grime artists, started out by dropping numerous mixtapes and freestyles, which very quickly started racking up millions of views online. Although Mist's lyrics contained well-worn tropes concerning making money and life on the streets, he also delivered very honest bars about the loss of his parents and how his life changed as a result. During his early career, Mist collaborated with fellow Birmingham resident and producer Shadow, who would create languid yet melodic beats for Mist to navigate. In 2016, Mist really began to break through; early in the year he stepped up to Fire in the Booth, a renowned feature on Charlie Sloth's BBC Radio 1Xtra show. The end of the year saw the release of the M I S to the T EP, which featured two standout singles "Karlas Back" and "Ain't the Same." 2017 found Mist embarking on a U.K.-wide tour, including stops at Koko, London, and Manchester O2 Ritz. - iTunes

Hopefully I Wanna Be Your Slave can climb as high as possible and You Right has made it into the Top 10.

KSI's Holiday has grown on me a lot since last week. I still don't think it's his best song but retrospectively it would have made a better #1 than I first thought.

Biography

Infinitely fascinating and unpredictable, Bella Poarch is a true force of nature. Not only the world’s third-biggest TikTok star (with over 65 million followers and counting), the Filipino-American is a U.S. Navy veteran, gaming icon, anime obsessive, lifelong singer, and burgeoning songwriter who’s created countless home recordings based on her emotionally raw lyrics and self-taught ukulele skills. Originally hailing from a tiny farm in the Philippines, Bella first discovered her vocal gifts as a little girl and started performing despite her parents’ disapproval. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17, where she proudly served working on helicopters and jets across the States and Japan, and ultimately landed in Hawaii after her contract ended. She now holds the record for most likes on a TikTok video – an August 2020 post that’s surpassed 50 million likes – and by September 2020 she’d moved to L.A. and begun meeting with multi-platinum music producers, soon inking her deal with Warner Records. Now, with her debut single “Build a Bitch” and more music to come, Bella Poarch delivers her own dynamic and diverse brand of dark pop sure to turn heads. - Spotify

9 new entries ohmy.gif I chose a good day to tune in! Måneskin clip being played as a contender <3 and Whigfield mentioned laugh.gif she was one of the last acts I saw live, thanks to a We Love The 90s concert lol. 'Build A Bitch' a pretty solid start to the chart, I found it a little annoying on first listen but it's grown quite a lot on subsequent listens.

Biography

Los Angeles based Noizu is quickly climbing through the ranks of house music. Making his debut on the Chris Lake and Skrillex curated ‘HOWSLA’ in 2017 with ‘Lasers’ before catching the eyes and ears of French label boss Tchami. His follow up release saw the Jungle EP, an instant live anthem supported by Diplo, Oliver Heldens, A-Trak, Jauz, Malaa and more. 2018 started with singles ‘LFO’ and ‘Wavey’, gaining huge support from Sirius / Diplo Revolution. The latter in particular receiving over 200 plays. Noizu’s first official remix came when he was asked by DJ Snake himself to tackle his Lauv featured smash ‘A Different Way’, which boasts over 4.8M Spotify streams at present. A champion for other new talent, Noizu has always given away his own stems post-release to encourage other young producers and has released several remix EPs highlighting the best new talent he can find. Other official remix offers came in and he selected songs by Tchami and Valentino Khan. He also took the idea of re-working the classic house anthem “Music Sounds Better with You” to his now friend Malaa. The song was released as a bootleg and has had over 1M Soundcloud plays and tens of thousands of downloads.

With a growing urge to adopt a label boss attitude, he set up Techné Records summer of 2018 with a view to working club releases globally and giving new talent a platform to show their skills. The debut release, a collaboration with Dombresky, could not have gone better. ‘Rave Alarm’ was launched and an instant festival anthem was subsequently made “Hottest Record in the World” by Annie Mac for BBC Radio 1. A top 10 Aria club track in Australia, this track has now been licensed and will receiving a big push with video in 2019. November 2018 saw Noizu make his LA debut, a packed headline show at Sound Nightclub. An incredible landmark for a project barely 18 months old but a true testament to the pace and quality of which the project is heading towards.

Cruising straight into 2019, Noizu started off the year with the much-anticipated release of ‘DANCE’ on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records, which quickly gained the support of some of dance music’s top names including FISHER, Chris Lake, Green Velvet, Claude VonStroke and more. After a packed set at Beyond Wonderland, Noizu gifted fans with his second release of the year ‘No More’ which gained the same ongoing traction of everything before it. Having already been played by some of the top DJs at major events around the world including Miami Music Week and Lollapalooza Argentina, this track is not one to be slept on. The year will undoubtedly continue to deliver more top-quality music on a host of respected labels as the ever-growing list of A-List support, co-signs and fan awareness grows.

Biography

Ella Henderson
Bursting on to the scene in 2014, at just 18-years-old Ella Henderson went on to achieve global success with her debut single, ‘Ghost.’ Co-written with Ryan Tedder, the song became the fastest-selling debut single from any British Artist in 2014. That same year, Ella’s debut album, ‘Chapter One,’ (Salaam Remi, Babyface, Steve Mac, TMS) spawned her first Platinum selling album, making her one of only 3 UK artists to break Platinum in 2014. A revered artist, in 2015 Ella received two prestigious BRIT Award nominations for 'Best British Female' and 'Best British Single', rounding off the year with a landmark sell-out UK headline tour, which included two shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Following a whirlwind few years, Ella returned to the studio to being work on her next project. During the process she continued to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, appearing on hits produced by superstar DJ’s Kygo and Sigma. She also returned to the live stage, touring with the likes of Take That, James Arthur and Rudimental, the latter of whom signed her to a new record deal with their label Major Toms/Asylum. For Ella, this marked a brand new start. “I want it to be fresh,” says the 23-year-old. “The industry's changed so drastically since I last released music over four years ago. I want to embrace that. I want to treat everything like it's a clean slate.” - Spotify

Biography

Joel Corry
“Back Again” might seem like a strange title for a debut single, but not for Joel Corry: When the British DJ/producer dropped his first record in 2015, he was already well known to UK audiences from his appearances on the MTV reality show Geordie Shore. While that program captured its cast members’ romantic misadventures with tongue firmly in cheek, Corry has treated his musical career with far more seriousness, faithfully updating the sounds of classic house with a sleek contemporary touch. Born in London in 1989, Corry was just a boy when the slinky sounds of UK garage catapulted underground dance music into British pop around the turn of the millennium, but he brings the same crossover spirit to his own productions. While 2015’s “Back Again” and “Light It Up” flirted with big-room EDM, Corry looked to the past for his breakout hit, a 2019 cover of Monsta Boy’s 2000 UK garage classic “Sorry” that paired soulful vocals with crisp, jittery drum programming. He’s pursued a similar approach on subsequent singles like “Lonely” and “Head & Heart”, updating the piano chords and organ stabs of ’90s dance pop with 21st-century production values. While Corry’s timeless hooks are perfect for radio, he’s careful to always have something special for the dance floor. As he told Apple Music: “With all my records I like to do my own VIP mix”—that is, a club-ready version that’s a little tougher and heavier. With reality TV in the rearview, these days Corry’s simply keeping it real. - Apple Music

RAYE
Croydon, South London-based R&B singer Rachel Keen (aka RAYE) started her career at the age of ten, guided by her father and her guitar teacher. Her interest in music quickly led to small charity gigs and bouts of singing at her local church. By 2012, RAYE had enrolled in the prestigious BRIT school for music and singing, spending two years perfecting her craft, but she left in 2014 due to the limitations she was being taught and the desire to create her own rules. The following year, RAYE released her debut EP, Welcome to the Winter. The lead single, "Hotbox," was noticed by Olly Alexander (Years & Years) on Hype Machine; he got in touch with RAYE to discuss music, and arranged a meeting with the A&R department at Polydor. With major-label backing, RAYE kept busy in 2016, including co-writing her single "I, U, US" alongside Charli XCX, appearing as a guest vocalist on Jonas Blue's "By Your Side" single, and releasing the SECOND EP. She was back working with Charli XCX the following year, guesting on the singer's tracks "Girls" and "Dreamer." RAYE also delivered her own single, "The Line." The singles "Check" (with Kojo Funds) and "Cigarette" (with Mabel and Stefflon Don) were released in 2018. The following year saw RAYE issue the emotionally charged single "Love Me Again." - Apple Music

David Guetta
From his early days playing Chicago house in French discotheques to his long reign atop the pop charts, David Guetta has revolutionised dance music multiple times. Born in Paris in 1967, Guetta began DJing in the late ’80s, when the shimmery sound known as the “French touch” was taking shape. By the early 2000s, at his F*** Me I’m Famous parties in Ibiza, he had translated that melodic style into a clever merger of pop sass and club swagger. He parlayed that mix into pure platinum with hits like 2003’s “Just for One Day”, an energy-stoking rework of David Bowie’s “Heroes”, and 2002’s “Just a Little More Love”, a sultry bump-and-grind featuring R&B singer Chris Willis. That versatility—along with a knack for killer hooks—would become one of Guetta’s principal calling cards, and as EDM exploded across pop culture at the end of the 2000s, Guetta’s shapeshifting style led the way, yielding ecstatic affirmations (“When Love Takes Over”), feisty come-ons (“Sexy Bitch”) and unstoppable singalongs (The Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling”, which Guetta produced). Since then, his collaborations (Sia, Nicki Minaj) have kept listeners guessing even as his choruses—triumphant as a bottle of bubbly blowing its top—have proven one of pop’s most dependable pleasures. - Apple Music

Thought I would hate Build A Bitch due to its TikTok star origins but it's actually a decent tune.
