No idea why, but I wasn’t expecting to love this as much as I did.
Sufjan always delivers, and him and Angelo work so well together. Some of these are up their with his absolute best for me — The Pillar of Souls and (This Is) The Thing are early standouts for me. With this, Convocations, The Ascension and Aporia, we are being well and truly FED. |

This album doesn't have nearly as many standout individual songs as 'The Ascension' did for me but it is a really ~pretty~ listen. Faves from the album tracks for me are 'The Pillar Of Souls' and 'Lost In The World'. Also still loving 'You Give Death A Bad Name', 'Olympus' and 'Cimmerian Shade' (the other singles I can kind of take or leave but I think I did enjoy them more in the context of the full album).
