So in terms of cultural impact, will Gaga's upcoming feature film have the same impact as the undeniably huge A Star is Born film? Consider the impact in terms of box office or music or awards - or all three!

What sort of "impact" do you think the film will have? Will it be a commercial and/or critical success? thinking.gif

I think in terms of cultural impact it won't be on the same level as A Star is Born (because it won't have Shallow attached to it kink.gif) but in terms of critical success I think it'll match ASIB! Commercially, I hope it's a success but Covid could have something to say about that with reduced cinema goers in the forseeable thinking.gif

The film will be a critical & commercial success. At the ASIB level? Who knows... but I know it'll be another big hit, this time focused on her acting and not her music.

I see comments on videos of the leaked footage of the film and everyone says they smell Oscar for her acting.

Without a big soundtrack behind it, I am excited to see the focus be on the acting a lot moreso than it was for ASIB. I hope the praise is legitimate and she delivers a knockout performance wub.gif

An Oscar nom for Gaga and #1 on box office would suffice, hope it'll go all the way and become a big critical success as a whole.

I don't think it'll be as huge, but if gets Gaga even more respect for her acting, that's a major win biggrin.gif

I can't wait to see her looks during it and I suspect she'll be serving major SASS *.* Bring it on Italian queen dance.gif

I just can't wait to see Gaga in full on movie mode again. I remember some iconic/flawless looks and interviews throughout the entire ASIB era!

Her interviews too! She gave us "There can be a hundred people in the room..." from her ASIB interviews so I can't wait for these new ones. Imagine how many times we will hear she's Italian Gaga.png

Love to bump this. What do you think now when the theater release is imminent.

I think this will cement her way to stardom as an actor too - whether she gets an Oscar nom or not. She is the talking point of the movie and people will go to see the movie because of HER even more than they went to see ASIB I reckon.

I think in the acting world it will, but musically and in terms of actual impact on the internet / general public, A Star is Born will remain the bigger "hit". The fact that 'Shallow' is still a massive global streaming hit proves it is still impacting audiences today.

The lack of soundtrack for HoG will lessen its global reach I think.

It won't touch the level of impact that ASIB had but it's going to do wonders for the respect she'll be building up in Hollywood!
