Wigan band The Lathums have finally announced that their debut album 'How Beautiful Life Can Be' will be released on September 24th - they've had a similar trajectory to The Snuts so hopefully it can also reach #1! (it certainly seems like a quiet release week thus far).

Tracklisting:

1. Circles Of Faith
2. I’ll Get By
3. Fight On
4. How Beautiful Life Can Be
5. The Great Escape
6. I Won't Lie
7. I See Your Ghost
8. Oh My Love
9. I’ll Never Forget The Time I Spent With You
10. I Know That Much
11. Artificial Screens
12. The Redemption Of Sonic Beauty

The deluxe also features an acoustic version of the album! A remastered version of one of their first singles 'The Great Escape' came out on Friday to mark the album announcement.

New one "I'll Get By" came out yesterday, getting The Coral vibes from it!

Just over 24 hours until release now! I've been absolutely loving the singles in the last couple of weeks. I'm really hoping they manage to achieve the #1 album next week, it'll be quite cool for me to see as I remember first listening to them when they only had their first couple of singles released!

“How Beautiful Life Can Be” I admit is a bit of an anthem for me currently, in my personal chart top 10!

Anyone heard the cover of the Squeeze song ‘Up The Junction’ on the extended version? Really nice!

For the last few months, I have been assuming that my first post-Covid gig would be Public Service Broadcasting. I found out yesterday that The Lathums are playing in Brighton tomorrow night so I'm now going to that gig. The Lathums will, therefore, beat PSB. Where have I heard that before?

It's a fairly small venue so I was surprised there were still tickets available!

Given that they have been unable to play live for half their existence, they were surprisingly accomplished tonight. If you get a chance, go and see them before they start playing much larger venues.

And, yes, they did bring their number one album trophy with them laugh.gif

Naturally, I was wearing a Public Service Broadcasting t-shirt. At least one person there got the joke.

Haha glad you enjoyed it. Nice to see them proud of their chart achievement. I really only go to gigs in smaller venues hate big corporate places!
