Today marks the 11th anniversary of both my registration and personal chart on Buzzjack! To commemorate I will be running down this week's Hot 100 alongside the year-to-date Top 20, the latter avec Joseph chart show style posts.
  This week Embrz is gunning for a seventh week at #1 with BJSC DNQ 'Where You Are' which would equalise for the longest-running #1 of the year so far. There is hot competition from BT with 'Wildfire' which has spent the last five weeks at #2 alongside former #1s from Gareth Emery and Rain Radio. Meanwhile there is a bigger fight for the current year-to-date #1 between a handful of former BJSC entries of mine from the likes of Adriatique, Aly & Fila, Felon, Grandbrothers and Worakls. There may even be a (shocker) MAINSTREAM song or two in the mix too. |

Croatia Squad ~ Never Quit  Date Entered: 07/03/2021 Sales: 660k+ Chart Run: 8-5-5-6-6-10-12-29-33-37-31-38-51-42-43-48-65-70-81-x [19 weeks] Video Commentary Swiss DJ Croatia Squad (yes really) still has a rather short chart history here but has made the most of it with three millionaires all of which made the end-of-year top ten too, including last year's remix of 'In The Air Tonight', a cover version of the Phil Collins classic. He came back this year with a deep-meets-tech house tune in 'Never Quit', an aspirational work-out anthem when it gets going with its catchy hook. It won't go all the way as with his last couple of chart hits but at least shows he's here to stay as a chart presence. Latest single 'Miniskirt' is now starting to make its way up having made #68 last week which is in a similar style. It was put out as part of Archaellum's first release and as yet they haven't followed it up in my chart though they did put out another song a couple of days ago which could make next week's chart. 'Oh, Miles' is another of his signature melodic house tracks making great use of its reasonably lengthy runtime and vocals and it became the first of his tracks to make the top 10 here and so far the only. Tinlicker vs. Robert Miles ~ Children  Date Entered: 04/10/2020 Sales: 1,020k+ Chart Run: 9-8-7-4-6-7-8-8-10-10-16-12-32-10-10-9-13-17-17-19-21-33-33-31-26-22-27-30-32-43-x [21 of 30 weeks] Video Commentary What better way to modernise such a classic as Robert Miles 'Children' than have Tinlicker remake it? I don't think there is one as they are perfect for it. Tinlicker you may know for their current German hit 'Because You Move Me' which sits at #29 in my YTD update but it's this that is their top track for me so far. They turn the song into a big progressive house anthem without removing any of the soul of the OG. Tinlicker are certainly an act to watch in the next few years in my chart and they've already racked up a fair bit of history since 2019 breakthrough. Shouse ~ Love Tonight  Date Entered: 25/04/2021 Sales: 710k+ Chart Run: 35-38-39-43-11-11-13-10-7-8-10-10-7-12-7-6-5-6-... [18+ weeks] Video Commentary A big contender for the end-of-year top five, and a near-certainty for the top ten now, in the breakout hit of Shouse. A track which was released in 2017 but only managed to get noticed by some big name DJs including David Guetta this year helping the song take off big worldwide and especially in Germany. 'Love Tonight' has been a big sleeper hit in this chart the past couple of months eventually reaching the top five two weeks back. Could it re-peak this evening and maybe go even further along the way? However they recently had a big musical rebrand including a slight name change and ended up making a wonderful melodic house album of which is the big standout instantly giving them a new chart peak and then up to #2 in their 2nd week - unlucky enough to spend 3 weeks there behind two different songs that are yet to come in the rundown. I thought this would get me another decent sized hit but that wasn't to be the case as it failed to qualify. Perhaps BJSC just isn't ready for melodic house yet as my last three DNQs have been with the genre which is a shame. This is on the more anthemic side than the mellow side of it too so perhaps a bit more accessible if you skimmed the last couple of melodic house videos in this thread and weren't keen. Hey Dan. Re your EOY.
Business is quite a decent entry to be in at #20. I remember how long it charted for you so it makes sense. Oh I didn't realise that Children had done so well on your chart to be where it is here. I wasn't a fan sadly. Too similar to the original for me to enjoy it. Wetlands was a fantastic entry to BJSC. it was an entry right?  great song.I know that Heat had its fair share of fans on Buzzjack but unfortunately I wasn't one of them. Re your simmering 60. I'm happy to see Remember continuing to climb. There's a chance (albeit a small one) that Remember will be #1 next Monday.) Excuses is a fun track. Very different to what I was expecting. Disco Odyssey is on my chart playlist. Just a couple weeks before it appears I think. It's great. That remix of Titanium is pure trash imo. I know you probably livey it but I feel like the remix was unnecessary and has murdered the song  I'm impressed that Heartbreak Anthem is still here (though not mad about it.) Issa bop  Cold Heart is absolutely flopping here. I feel like there might be a mistake and this should be top 20 😘 Don't Be Shy stalling as well this is one I'm so divided on. I do have it pegged in to chart at some point but.. and it's a big but... It's so generic I feel like I could get bored of it in a couple weeks. So I'm in two minds about charting it Great chart, fit what's there at the moment anyway!
