So, to avoid haphazard chart runs, my top 20s have been based on play counts over the preceding 4 weeks for nearly a year now. The disadvantage to this is that, although I haven't played "Boris" for over 2 weeks, it remains at number 1 for a 2nd week. Its crash out of the chart is due this time next week. At least my number 1 song of 2021 remains at number 3 in its 19th consecutive week on the chart, and the other 9 tracks from Voyage are all present in the top 20 after a blip last week. My new points system will allow easier calculations for the top songs of 2022 list rather than sifting through play counts of 20 mixes of the same song, and it will help average out unusually quiet weeks of music playing and vice versa.
