Chart Commentary

"Hello everyone, here we are again with the week’s Top 40 Countdown by awardinary.

To begin, I will give a shoutout to the following 5 people who took the time both to view and comment on my personal chart last week: JSG, MandaliCow, k👠th, Sergej and SSP. Responses to your comments are in the below post.

Many songs are dropping heavily this week, but one that isn’t is Crazy What Love Can Do which makes it almost a whole month at the top. There are seven new entries this week.

The highest new entry is by Eurovision 2022 runner up Sam Ryder. His entry SPACE MAN came very close to winning and is the best performing UK entry since 1998. That is why it has also been chosen as the Track of the Week. New entries from Ed Sheeran, HARLEE, Imanbek & salem ilese, Shane Codd, Alok & Bastille and MK & Paul Woolford complete the list.

21 Reasons moves to #2 this week and there are also climbs for As It Was, My Heart’s Been Waiting For You, Bam Bam, Chaise Longue, Find You, Temptation [Superlover Remix] and Words.

Sigala’s single Melody remains the longest running entry in the chart at present, in its 16th week. Shawn Mendes and YAZ suffer the biggest falls for the week.

Exiting the Top 40 Countdown this week are HAAi & Obi Franky, The Weeknd, Shouse, Ella Henderson, Otto Knows, Train and Charli XCX.
