IT'S RESULTS TIME.

One of the most successful UK & Irish boy bands and groups of all time. What is going to win? Which song will be finishing last? Any dark horse predictions?

Looking forward to seeing these results! I'll predict World of Our Own to win and Ain't That A Kick In The Head to come last. Dark horse prediction would probably be my fave If I Let You Go, it gets a lot of hate on the forum for blocking Better Off Alone but I'm hoping that this rate will show that it is at least one of their better songs!

31. Lighthouse [Greatest Hits] (4.85)
32. My Hero [Wild Dreams] (4.67)
33. Hey Whatever [Turnaround] (4.64)
34. Tonight [Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1] (4.62)
35. Mandy [Turnaround] (4.1)
36. Smile [Allow Us To Be Frank] (3.1)
37. Ain't That A Kick In the Head [Allow Us To Be Frank] (3.04)

I don't think there's many surprises here tbh. Finishing in the bottom 2 are the singles from their first swing album 'Allow Us To Be Frank'. Rightfully so too. Both dreadful. A poor showing for their 2004 album 'Turnaround' who also loses 2 singles! The #4 hit 'Hey Whatever' proved to be quite divisive. I just think it's verse and chorus don't gel well together, but I appreciate what they tried to go for. Mark's middle-8 in that is great! It also lost the number 1 single 'Mandy' or "Blandy" as I like to nickname it x Another cover that wasn't needed at all. BLEH.

The 2nd single from their first Greatest Hits collection makes an appearance here. 'Tonight' is very forgettable, but it's OK. The 2nd single from their most recent studio album is here as we lose 'My Hero' which again... is "meh". 'Lighthouse' was the only new single from their 2nd Greatest Hits collection and it's as bland as you'd probably think tbh.

I hate how much hate Hey Whatever gets, the whole second half in particular is brilliant. I do see some truth in your comments though Jonjo, for me the chorus is the worst part of the song.

No other losses here for me at all, the swing album was such an awful idea for them.

Blandy was the only song to receive MULTIPLE -1's. 5 members gave it their -1 score!

Good start! Ain't That A Kick In The Head was my -1 and deserves last place, and Mandy was easily their worst #1. Lighthouse is the only one I don't mind in that bunch.

I’m amazed Hey Whatever scored that low

Sadly I think the newer songs will be low down on the list - which I think will be harsh on Starlight

'Hey Whatever' may be different for them but it's an absolute RACKET.

21. What Makes A Man [Coast to Coast] (5.54)
22. Seasons In The Sun [Westlife] (5.52)
23. Dynamite [Spectrum] (5.47)
24. Obvious [Turnaround] (5.46)
25. The Rose [The Love Album] (5.44)
26. Bop Bop Baby [World Of Our Own] (5.3)
27. When You Tell Me That You Love Me (feat. Diana Ross) [Face To Face] (5.18)
28. My Blood [Spectrum] (5.14)
29. Safe [Gravity] (5.12)
30. Queen of My Heart [World Of Our Own] (5.02)

The song that ruined a perfect UK #1 streak for them misses out on the top 20. 'What Makes A Man' was the 2nd single from 'Coast to Coast' and was beaten to the number 1 spot by... Bob The Builder. tearsmile.gif I actually quite like this one and it didn't deserve to be the one that ended their #1 streak. Another cover is next as 'Seasons In the Sun' is out at #22. The first single from their self-titled debut to appear in this countdown. The 'Spectrum' album loses 2 of it's singles as we say goodbye to 'Dynamite' & 'My Blood'... both of which are "alright" but 'Dynamite' in particular could pop off SO much more.

The bland 'Obvious' leaves us in this section too, but we also lose another cover and ngl... it hits a bit of a soft spot for me whistle.gif 'The Rose' is beautiful and it's their last single to reach UK #1! The 'World Of Our Own' album loses 2 of it's singles... 2 completely different type of songs! 'Bop Bop Baby' is at #27 and is very much "bop by name, bop by nature" but in an MOR R2/Heart FM kinda way. Deserves higher tbh. On the other end of the spectrum in every way imagineable, it's the drab, dreary 'Queen Of My Heart'. Yes, it's as sickly sweet as you'd imagine it to be. Bleurgh! The Diana Ross duet 'When You Tell Me That You Love Me' falls out in this section too. Very mid. Finally we have the aptly titled 'Safe'... not good, not bad. Ok. Not one you'd go back to etc..

Those swing covers were diabolical. Crikey. Who told them to do an album of those lmao. Robbie, Buble and others do that so much better imo.
'Bop Bop Baby' is such a catchy track and probably doesn't deserve to be as low as 26. I do admit to having 'Queen Of My Heart' on CD but I'm not so sure why exactly haha. I must've liked it very briefly and was an impulse buy because now I'd probably flog it in a charity shop :')
The Diana duet is okay too and 'Safe' was fine too but yeah not good or bad just there really in a semi pleasant way. 'Seasons In The Sun' is okay too tbh.

When You Tell Me That You Love Me is OK but the original version with just Diana was better! The Rose was a decent cover though, while I wouldn't say it was one of my favourites I also think it's a bit lower than it should be here, that and Seasons In The Sun should have swapped places.

'Dynamite' is passable, but that is a selection of absolute bilge.

What Makes A Man is decent, and better than a lot of their No.1s, but the rest there are not really my thing.

I was never going to participate in this as there are too many songs I don't know and wouldn't have cared to listen to so my opinion is irrelevant here but I remember actually quite liking both 'Safe' and 'Lighthouse' so a shame they're both gone already!
