There are actually 2 entries I think I know the identities of due to insider info of people confirming them to BJSC and then switching
 I'll keep it to myself though to not expose people xx (and I'm not 100% sure about one of them anyway).2 of my former song contest artists showing up here! Christian Löffler who I've sent to Club Bizarre before + Tangerine Dream who I've sent to a BJSC spinoff. A few other names I recognise here (also looking forward to hearing DJ Shadow and Faux Tales' songs based on other stuff I know from them) but I think there's only one song that I've heard already, that being one of the two referred to in the first paragraph. I have heard a couple of remixes of the Leaving Laurel song (Jody Wisternoff/James Grant and Daniel Avery) but not actually listened to the original! Bring on the vibes ~ *.* at us getting a recap again as well x (btw I think this is the first one of these that Leww hasn't entered? </3) |

Anyway it is great to have a chilled theme again, thank you to Jade for the lovely presentation and getting us all looking forward to the discoveries! Welcome too to our latest debutant to this contact, jimwatts!  I recognised a couple of the artist names when looking over the list, and despite only really knowing one other song other than my own. That Tangerine Dream song is bugging me though as I could swear I either heard it before, or read about it being sampled in a more commercial song some time ago, but when I checked whosampled I couldn't find a match to what I remembered it from. Maybe it was a different song with a similar title. |

I had the playlist on background while I was running and I must say that this edition is somewhat less chill out-y than the first one iirc. Not saying that they don’t fit with the theme but just an early observation that some of us went with more bass lol. Looking forward to hear the rest of them.

The only track I already know is Hayling, which is an all-time chillout classic, very Zero 7, and of course features the wonderful Hafdis Huld who I sent another song by to BJSC...13 years ago

Surprised at the lack of awareness for the DJ Shadow song. Granted it didn't go Top 40. I did listen to Smooth Chill at lot in 2020 and it's played a lot on there.

Thanks for the kind words about the recap
 I hadn’t heard of a single entry here (only the vetoed song) for what it’s worth well I know some DJ Shadow stuff but can’t remember if this is a specific song I’ve come across before

Yeah I think there will be others in your position Jade... It's the differing perspectives of people who listened to this style of genre back when those tracks were released and those that were probably waaayyyyy too young to do so... it's just a sad reminder of how old some of us are getting

 I suspect Dandy* may be feeling the same way I felt about J Majik being in Club Bizarre a couple of editions ago, just from half a generation earlier x (although 'Hayling' has a lot more plays on Spotify than 'Crazy World' tbf lol) |
