Loyle Carner just dropped his 3rd studio album. It debuted at #3 on the Uk Album Chart. I think this is an awesome record from the voice of our genaration.

I’ve found myself listening to this a lot over the past few days, really impressed by it. Probably my favourite album of this genre for quite some time

Why is nobody talking about this?!! It’s seriously great and I would have assumed it would appeal to quite a few on here?

He's one of those artists that I feel like I should like but everything I've heard from him has just kind of gone in one ear and out the other unfortunately. Hopefully something will click one day. 'Nobody Knows (Ladas Road)' is probably his best song that I've heard to date tbf but it still didn't really make me eager to hear it again - I think his other stuff has suffered from having pretty boring instrumentals iirc? Maybe that's just 'Loose Ends'. I can't even remember which of his other songs I have and haven't heard which in itself isn't a great sign.

I'm really enjoying Nobody Knows and most of the first half of the album tbh... I do love the second half too but I could see why people may think it gets more boring - probably helps that I'm quite fond of jazzy and soul sounds so tend to find hip hop based on them quite relaxing and kinda warm and cozy to listen to

He’s more of a soulful social narrator which I really like about him! |

I've not listened to this one yet but have enjoyed the three singles he released before it quite a lot, Georgetown bringing back the GSCE English memories with the John Agard poem. I really should listen though, Not Waving But Drowning is an excellent album with good features and the Dear Jean / Dear Ben opener and closers are wonderful
