Gonna try and be more consistent with starting threads for albums I'm checking out that don't already have them... (although maybe there's a reason no one else started them already)
So anyway the latest album from British synthpop band Ladytron dropped last week and looks like it'll hopefully be giving them their highest charting album to date today (surprised they've never got higher than #72 before! this one was at #34 in the Wednesday midweeks) This is a pretty alright album of mellow synth jams, (Helen) Marnie's voice reminds me a lot of Halsey at times. 'City Of Angels', 'Misery Remember Me' and 'Faces' were dropped as singles and they're all highlights of the album for me, 'Misery Remember Me' is the best song on the album for me. Think my fave album track is the spacey 'The Dreamers', other standouts for me were 'We Never Went Away' and 'California' (them joining Lana and Lorde in indie-adjacent female vocal acts starting with L who have a good song with that title). |

They’re so underrated. I listened to this once and it sounded pretty consistent, I’ll need to hear it again to pinpoint the highs though.
Have you listened to Witching Hour? That’s my favourite album of theirs, absolutely adore it |

I haven't (as per for most pre-2019 albums) but I actually did recently check out 'International Dateline' from it as it appeared in Jade's personal chart (due to them uploading a remastered version of the music video on their YouTube channel, slightly confusing in the middle of a new album rollout!) and that song is pretty great, maybe better than anything off the actual new album I think I may have heard 'Destroy Everything You Touch' as well?
Open to checking out any other particular highlights you have from their older material! I did love the one Yobnedor sent to BJSC too (although that one is a bit more recent). |

This is a playlist I made for a friend to introduce them to the band... I don't know whether I'd 100% just choose these for you but it's an okay starter:
