What do you think will happen in music in 2024? What singers do you think will release music? Succeed/underperform? etc

2023 threw up some real chart surprises, so I'd like to see how 2024 compares!

Ariana Grande will release, Rihanna will release, Adele will release (ans majorly flop, as she destroyed her brand by releasing Easy On Me first, plus the whole Vegas debacle), Spice Girls will do a tour ans Glastonbury, Ed Sheeran will release to even more diminished rwturns, J Lo will release. Wham will be no.1 for all of December and hald of November.

Ariana Grande will have the biggest first week sale of the year just ahead of the next TV Taylor Swift album.
Celeste’s 2nd album will be surprisingly successful A new girl group will be a huge success and have a huge number one! Coldplays return will be a big flop Ed Sheeran will release Winter Variations next December and claim the Christmas number one single with a Christmas song on it This post has been edited by Christmasteve201: 28th December 2023, 09:26 PM |

It will flop. Ariana will have a moderate-sized return. Agreed that Coldplay will flop. |

Shygirl will have a massive breakout year, seems impossible that she won't.
I'm most interested to find out who Adamski94 will kill off next year. |

Sabrina Carpenter will get a moderate hit with "Feather", then a actual full fledged hit with her next album ala "Greedy"
Renee Rapp will also break through, mostly because of Mean Girls and get a proper hit. Tyla will get another moderate hit, maybe have a Collab that is surprisingly high profile. Bruno Mars will release, get a #1 single but not much critical acclaim. I expect the same of Ariana. Caity Baser will completely flop, harder than Mae Muller, and fade into obscurity. Olly Alexander will score a Top 5 hit with his UK entry for Eurovision. Noah Kahan will have a massive year and have further hits beyond Stick Season, potentially even multiple #1's. |

The UK chart will continue to be confusing and not straightforward to calculate
Ed Sheeran will have a #1 single much to the annoyance of a lot of Buzzjack members A song released in 2023 will be in 2024's Year End top 10 best sellers Exactly 16 different singles will reach #1 in the UK chart Wham will be Christmas #1 in the UK chart for the 2nd consecutive year Everyone will forget to bump this thread before 2024 is over |

My Predictions:
Ariana Grande returns with a new single early in the year. It is a smash hit and becomes her longest running UK #1 single. She also releases an album In Q2 but the other singles only trouble the low top 10/high top 20 The Weeknd releases a new single or album in Q4 and he goes big on pop which leads him to have a big hit. Justin Bieber returns with a new #2 album. It features a universally cringed-at song country-ish called 'Cowgirl' or something like that. Noah Kahan goes from strength to strength. Starting with year with 'Stick Season' becoming the first UK #1 of the year and the album also reaching the top 5 albums chart thanks to the vinyl re-issue in February JID begins to be appreciated by the UK public after 'Surround Sound' and his 2024 album 'Forever & A Day' will get a few minor chart hits. Playboi Carti secures a top 5 album with his next album and a few top 40 hits upon release Olly Alexander finishes in the top 10 of Eurovision and the UK charts with his entry. Sam Fender returns with a massive single that roams around in the top 20 for ages. His 3rd album also sells 60K+ in its first week MGMT return to the top 40 with a viral hit. New albums from: London Grammar, Wolf Alice and Fred Again.. which are all #1s The Vaccines score their first UK #1 album in 12 years Green Day VS The Reytons turns out to actually be quite a tight chart race but the former do come out on top in the end. The Smile score their 1st UK #1 album but there won't be any Radiohead albums being released until at least 2025 Dave returns with his 3rd studio album that has a short title. It goes for commerciality > Quality and there are some big names featured. It sells over 100K in its first week. |

Predictions (will probably add more)
Noah Kahan gets the first #1 with stick season and spends 3 weeks at the top (ideally he drops a remix with Olivia Rodrigo but not holding out much hope ) Ariana grande releases the lead single of ag7 end of Jan/beginning of feb and it performs similarly to flowers but doesn’t spend as long at #1 Her album comes out in April, goes #1 and has 2 more top 10s Murder on the dance floor gets reset and makes it to the top 10 Reputation Taylor’s version comes out in early 2023 and she finishes the re-records with her debut in summer, both go to #1 and tracks go top 10 but she doesn’t get another #1 single. Rep performs a la speak now/ red while debut tv is closer to fearless tv in performance Dave releases a new album with another #1 single Dua Lipa releases her album in summer Bruno mars return, does decent but nothing spectacular Ed Sheeran says he’s taking a break but he will put out at least a few singles, if not an album. It’s poppy and has another #1 single To the joy of many, cruel summer gets reset again in June when the eras tour comes to the uk and stays in the top 10 the same way as it was did this year The Weeknd puts out an album late in the year, and one of the girls becomes a top 20 hit in the new year Doja cat x sza collab Sza releases “Lana” but it’s basically a new album. 3 more top 40s for her. One instantly and one slightly later on. We get another unreleased Lana Del Rey track that goes top 20 That song Zara Larson is teasing currently becomes a hit Can’t catch me now goes top 10 in the new year Phoebe Bridgers and Maisie peters finally gets a top 40 single (wishful thinking) Uk does mediocre at Eurovision. Y&Y song is a dark sounding 80s dance tune and he puts on a show but we and around #22. The song goes top 5 and we have some Eurovision songs chart, though not as well as in 2023 Calvin Harris has another hit following in the trance vibe of miracle and there are a few hits in this style Joel Corry keeps putting out releases like last year and only one makes the top 40 KSI returns to the top 40 with a song |
