 'Welcome To The DCC' might not have been a discovery but on this listen it was sounding better than ever, so I'm pleased to have revisited it! Thank you to everyone who took part and voted. I really love doing the end of year ones and not really having any rules to follow (other than basically no Artist Forums Artists). I know some people believed a few of these weren't really "pop" but I thought they were pop enough to pass through.
The beauty of pop is that it's actually quite a broad genre. Pure pop. Synth pop. Indie-pop. Dance-pop. Rock-pop. R&B-Pop etc..

Congrats Nate! I think I heard that before somewhere (might have been the number 1 album sessions) and it was a great bit of alt-pop and worthy winner. The rest of that top 5 were all varying degrees of good too.
Been wanting to send Roosevelt for a while and this was a great late summer discovery that soundtracked the season well. I will take 14th as I thought I might do worse amongst a more poppy crowd. I was considering sending Frankie Rose to a song contest too with Come Back which I discovered earlier in the year, but I think I liked this one a lot more. I suppose at least my 12 helped it a little, but still far too low  Thanks for hosting, Jonjo, I made some pretty good discoveries here and was a much more inspired set of songs than I expected. |
