Record of The Decade - Top 200 Countdown

THE RESULTS THREAD

cheer.gif dance.gif yahoo.gif biggrin.gif thumbup.gif

Over the Easter Weekend I will be counting down the Top200 Records from 1997-2006 as voted for by BuzzJack Members from the 10 Record of the Year (1997-2006) Games.

The make-up of the results will be as follows:

#200 - #81 based on the average number of points scored (number of points divided by number of voters. eg> X song scores 250 Points in one of the Record Of the Year Games, from a total of 50 people voting. Therefore it's average is 5.000 Points.

#80 - #51 based on the songs that finished 21st - 50th in the Record Of The Decade Play-offs (between songs that finished 4th - 8th place from their respective Record Of The Year Games).

On Monday (You have until Monday morning to vote in the Final) I will reveal the Top 50 Songs from the results of the Record Of The Decade Final.

For each track I will post a video (where available) of that track and reveal where it finished (within the Top200) in last year's Record Of The Decade Game.

ne4.gif 193 Black Eyed Peas - My Humps (4.422 Pts)

"My Humps" is the third single from The Black Eyed Peas' fourth album, Monkey Business. Released in 2005, it reached number three in the U.S., becoming the Black Eyed Peas' third top ten single in the U.S. The single also reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, their sixth top ten single on the chart. The song won the 2007 Grammy Award for "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal".

Alanis Morissette covered the song in 2007, seemingly as an April Fools' Day prank, although she has not confirmed this. In contrast to the original "My Humps", Morissette's cover is performed slowly and in the style of a torch song, with only a piano accompanying the vocal. On April 2, a video in which Morissette parodies Fergie's dancing moves in the original "My Humps" music video was added to the website YouTube, by April 5, the video had been viewed 2.8 million times. The Associated Press wrote that Morissette's "quiet, somber version only highlights the ridiculousness of Fergie's original lyrics". The video has been hosted on Morissette's official website.
