Posted September 11, 200717 yr http://www.mtv.com/shared/promoimages/bands/c/chasez_jc/a_z/281x211.jpg Former 'N Sync member JC Chasez has cut ties with longtime label Jive Records, which released his lone solo album, 2004's "Schizophrenic." Its follow-up, tentatively titled "Kate," was intended for release by Jive earlier this year but will now appear on a new label to be announced. Of late, Chasez has worked as a songwriter on projects for Backstreet Boys, Sugababes and Leona Lewis, and has also written collaboratively with Richard Marx and Kara DioGuardi. As for "Kate," it is tipped to include collaborations with 'N Sync mate Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Dallas Austin and Billy Steinberg. "It establishes a sound that is specific to me, a mash of all things," Chasez told Billboard.com last year. "I hope it'll be fresh for radio and listeners. In '97 and '98, pop ruled. But now hip-hop is the phenomenon and top 40 radio doesn't play pop records anymore." On the big screen, look for Chasez in the upcoming independent film "Killer Movie," as well as making guest spots on NBC's "Las Vegas" and the CW's "The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll."
September 11, 200717 yr Well that's sad to hear. I really like JC Chasez, his debut solo album was exactly a masterpiece but it's a lot better than people give it credit. Although I assumed he had been dropped after his debut majorly flopped in the US.
September 11, 200717 yr How well did his solo album do? I think it debuted low Top20 (#18ish or something) and then dropped like 30-odd spots the week after and continued in the same downward spiral from there. :(
September 12, 200717 yr Ohhh, so it probably scraped sales of like 150,000 - 200,000, which is not impressive at all. I did like his first single from that album though

Suppose this could just mean he has been shifted over to RCA as he is too pop now? Isnt Jive all urban now and Columbia more rock and alternative and Arista all Aniie Lennox???
