To be honest I've seen better two parters from the previous series, I just found the two-parter on the Sontarans should have been better, but its nice to see Martha back, the only mistake from the 2 parter they should have brought back the Brigadier, he did get a little mention, than he was stuck somewhere.

Christopher Ryan was excellent though as a villain, full marks to him.

Back on the episode I give it 6/10, but I thought it was too much effects.

I can't wait for next week's episode its the episode I've been waiting for, The Doctor's Daughter cheer.gif thumbup.gif

I really enjoyed that episode. I even think Catherine Tate is getting better - and Martha was great.

Anyone else see Rose flash on the screen on the Tardis? ohmy.gif

8/10 for me.

Yepp I saw Rose.

Wasn't too keen on this episode, I just found it all a little too slow and I saw the ending with the sacrifice a mile off. Was so predictable!

That was better than last week's episode..........., ................ but not by much.

The Sontarans were underused & 1 dimensional characters despite Christopher Ryan's (Mike from the Young Ones) best efforts. Everything else negative (see last week's post) to avoid repetition.

Gains a bonus mark for a blink & you missed it cameo by Rose (Billie Piper)*.

5/10

(If you blinked & missed it...)

* On the Doctor's laptop as a "live" screensaver just before Donna spoke to the Doctor towards the beginning of the episode.

I thought Rose was trying to contact the Doctor, not as a screensaver....?

I seriously doubt it was a screensaver laugh.gif it was Rose trying to contact the Doctor no doubt. What better way than trying to get in touch with him than getting onto the monitor in the TARDIS itself. She looked in trouble sad.gif

An okay 2nd half to the episode, no way the gas would clear that fast though, and wouldn't the flames sort of incinerated half of New York's skyline laugh.gif

Better than the Daleks 2 parter last year.

7/10 for the whole 2 parter.

(and I'm not mad enough to add points because of a split second of Rose tongue.gif)

Yes i saw Rose too, it was a real 'blink & you'll miss it' moment.
Had a feeling that she would be randomly popping through the series
until the big one comes along.

The episode wasn't too bad actually. Plenty of action in it which was good.

The next one looks interesting.

8/10

Has the Empire State Building is New York's largest building (and it didn't go far down it), I doubt it would have been.

And I missed Rose as well. (So guess who's going to watch it again?)

IMO, this has to be one of the best of the series so far.

I loved the fact that the guy from echo beach who CANNOT act for toffee got killed early on in the episode...bonus point for that laugh.gif

I loved Chris Ryan as the Sontaran leader, very good villian, well acted, i never rated him as much of an actor, until i saw this 2-parter!!

The Rose moment was totally unexpected and i loved it, Catherine Tate has excelled in this 2-parter and it was so nice to see Martha going into the next episode, i read somewhere that she was only in 5 episodes, and figured she would be in 4/5/11/12/13 but I'm not sure now as shes gona be in the next episode, unles it goes 4/5/6/12/13, loving Doctor Who atm and next weeks looks great.

Helen Raynor definetly loves killing off the bad guys, a stronger written story compared to last years Daleks, but both were great

8.5/10 for episode 5

8.5/10 for both 4/5 as one story (if that makes sense)

chris ryan is chris ryan.... made a living by being a small actor

still think his best moment was 'mike' the cool person in the young ones, the weakest character in the seriese.
