Ok so this is a new feature in NME that's only been in the magazine for about a month, but this week the 1st and last step in the chain is Razorlight :o It's probably not worth typing up, but i'm going to anyway :dancing:

1. Razorlight - Borrell and the boys recorded their early demos at Toerag Studios in east London, where The White Stripes made their 2003 album "Elephant".

2. The video for The White Stripes' "The Hardest Button To Button" featured a guest appearance from Beck.

3. Beck's forthcoming album "Modern Guilt" features guest vocals from Cat Power on the track "Walls".

4. The bonus disc of Cat Power's recent covers album, "Jukebox", included a version of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' "Breathless".

5. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' 1997 album "The Boatman's Call" features songs relating to the frontman's break-up with PJ Harvey.

6. PJ Harvey appeared topless on the cover of NME in 1992, something The Gossip singer Beth Ditto did 15 years later.

7. Beth Ditto caused a storm when she admitted she didn't like playing before Scissor Sisters' audience when The Gossip supported them on a US tour in 2006. She described the whole experience at the time as "soul sucking", although she became friends with Ana Matronic.

8. Scissor Sisters were joined by Elton John as pianist and co-writer on their 2006 UK Number One "I Don't Feel Like Dancin".

9. Elton John joined Eminem at the 2001 Grammy Awards to sing vocals on the rapper's huge hit "Stan".

10. Eminem's 1999 hit "My Name Is" includes a sample of Labi Siffre's "I Got The...." which featured Cockney duo Chas & Dave in their role as session musicians.

11. Chas & Dave's career was revived this decade when they supported big fans The Libertines, most notably at one of Pete and Carl's now-legendary run of shows at London's Kentish Town Forum in December 2003.

12. The Libertines' early line-up featured Johnny Borrell, now singer in Razorlight.

 Easy, if you can use really small connections

1. Paddy McGuiness stars in the Pheonix Nights alongside Peter Kay.

2. Both Peter Kay and Girls Aloud have done songs for Comic Relief.

3. Nicola Roberts is the ginger in Girls Aloud.
