Posted June 30, 200916 yr La Roux looks set to be both a winner and a loser in the charts this Sunday, with her eponymous debut album set to top the albums chart, while her single Bulletproof (Polydor) is likely to be dethroned from the top by Michael Jackson’s Man In the Mirror (Epic). Bulletproof is also feeling the pressure from third place, where the new Cascada single, Evacuate The Dancefloor (AATW/UMTV), is currently just a couple of thousand sales shy of second place. Elsewhere throughout the chart more Jacksonsongs continue to climb upward, with Billie Jean (Epic), Thriller (Epic), Beat It (Epic) and Smooth Criminal (Epic) all likely to enter the top twenty this week. At 18, Jamie T provides the only other significant new entry with the Sticks N Stones EP. On the album front La Roux (Polydor is currently over seven thousand sales ahead of Michael Jackson (Epic) whose best of set, Number Ones, is sitting pretty in second place. Elsewhere inside the top ten Jackson provides the only other significant movement with The Essential (Epic) collection and King Of Pop (Epic) albums both entering the top ten. Other new entries inside the top twenty come from Killswitch Engage (Roadrunner) and Ali Campbell (Jacaranda). June 30, 200916 yr Bored of this old MJ stuff clogging up the charts now - and who the hell buys Cascada - they should be shot
June 30, 200916 yr Will be interesting to see whether the physical sales will have an effect for La Roux/ Cascada
June 30, 200916 yr Author Will be interesting to see if Michael Jackson has the top 5 albums, I don't think no artist has achieved that feat.
June 30, 200916 yr I'm thinking it will be four Michael Jackson albums and La Roux in the top five...
June 30, 200916 yr Gobsmacked La Roux has snatched #1 album! :o 13 MJ tracks and 1 Jackson 5 track in the top 40.
June 30, 200916 yr Top 50 - 5 more Jackson 5/MJ songs Top 60 - 4 more Jackson 5/MJ songs Top 70 - 5 more Jackson 5/MJ songs Top 80 - 6 more Jackson 5/MJ songs Top 90 - 4 more Jackson 5/MJ songs Top 100 - 1 more Jackson 5/MJ song In top 100 that means there are 39 MJ and Jackson 5 songs...:)
June 30, 200916 yr Yes! La Roux number one! hope she stays there. So MJ has the 1,100th number one maybe if he stays there, but far too many songs clogging the top 40 and its pushed Freemasons, Saturdays, PCD and Veronicas down the chart :( hopefully it will change though
June 30, 200916 yr Where are this lot, please Ryan? Pitbull Black Eyed Peas (Gotta feeling) Jason Mraz Blame it On The Boogie Lily Allen ABC Katy Perry Prodigy Beyonce (Halo) Gossip Calvin Harris Jai Ho
