Really looking forward to Single 2! Empire is supposed to be far more soul based than Ghost which will be really interesting...
With album coming out Sept 22nd, when do you reckon this single will drop? (Assuming at least 4 weeks preorder time I'll go with end of July) |

Well if the album is out September 22nd, surely this single will be released September 15th. It'll probably go up for pre-order straight after it's premiere in the last week of July/first week of August.

I'm so excited for this! "Ghost" is one of my songs of the year, I'm so glad that Ella's had the success she deserves with it. Hopefully this and the album are just as good!

The single has been widely acknowledged as Empire, Ella quoted 2nd single lyrics which people confirmed as Empire as heard in a showcase for instance.
Ella completed the video for a Empire yesterday, still no announcement on preorder, release date... |

It's crazy how I really didn't rate her on XF (but I put that down to Tulisa's lack of interest in that series and therefore poor mentoring/song choices) but I'm actually contemplating buying her album... and I don't just buy albums on a regular basis.

I am so excited for this! When do we think the new single will premiere? I assume it will be released on September 15th (the week before the album), which will be the same week as Sigma & Paloma Faith's 'Changing' which has already premiered. I assume it will premiere around 6 weeks before like 'Ghost' did so I wouldn't be surprised if we get the details next week with a premiere possibly the week after!

I get the feeling this will be a big ballad. I mean I know Ghost was sort of like that, but I could see this being more emotive / stripped back maybe?! Either way I am really intrigued and excited to see what she comes out with.

Yeah I definitely think this is going to be less up-tempo than 'Ghost', however I have a feeling that the third single will be the big ballad as I assume she'll perform that on X Factor in November or December.
Obviously plans may have changed since this was written but Popjustice say that "Single Two and Single Three are both excellent as well. We can’t tell you their names for complicated music business reasons but they are properly big. One of them, a thundering mid-tempo extravaganza, sounds so much like a triumphant X Factor performance that you can almost smell the fireworks. The other is a crunchy, sparkily-produced ballad that everyone will find quite inspiring and emotional. The brief seems to have been ‘smart, modern-sounding and non-boring mid-to-downtempo’, and it works brilliantly." So actually you may be right as we'll probably be getting the "sparkily-produced ballad" next (I wonder if that was a cryptic clue as this is rumoured to be 'Glow' and sparks glow I guess  ) and then the "mid-tempo extravaganza" during the X Factor. It's so exciting!

Ella has been referring to the new single on Twitter as well as mentioning there will be some exclusive news for people signed up to her mailing list, so I think we'll find out some news about this before the end of the week.
