Haim- If I Could Change Your Mind Chart-Run: 10-13-3-3-6-10-10-8-16-15-14-X-X-X-X-7-17-17-26-29-32-34-40 Release Date: September 2013 from Album, Single release 23 March 2014 Chart Sales: +1,000M [+850k from 2014] Starting us off this week at 40 is Haim's 5th single in my chart from Days Are Gone- the 2nd biggest selling album of last year. If I Could Change Your Mind reached a peak of 3 for two weeks and has spent 8 weeks in the top 10. This track finally became a million seller this week after shifting 150k in 2013 and passing the 850k mark in 2014 sales for this chart. This is now Haim's third track to pass a million in 2014 after The Wire [1.035M] and Don't Save Me [1.028M]. Forever will be soon to follow at 972k sales so far This post has been edited by Ultraviolence: 16th August 2014, 11:40 PM |

Melissa Steel- Kisses For Breakfast Chart-Run: 23-35-39 Release Date: 27th July Chart Sales: +30k And following up with a third week in the chart is Melissa Steel's first song to chart- kisses for breakfast. It hasn't set the chart on fire at all but has had a solid run for a song with not much airplay. However it's sales are poor. Well she may get more success with another song at a later date but Melissa hasn't broken out just yet |

'If I Could Change Your Mind' is wonderful, probably my second favourite from them behind the sublime 'Falling'

Alexa Goddard- Marilyn Chart-Run: 25-38 Release Date: 8th August Chart Sales:+25k The second song in a row to have low sales, Marilyn is the 6th lowest selling single being tracked. The song had potential to do really well but the fact it was released with no promotion or anything and that it is not available on spotfiy [limiting how much I listen to it by a lot] meant the song has struggled. It could pick up and do quite well if it is added to spotify but it doesn't look great for Alexa at the moment |

Rita Ora- I Will Never Let You Down Chart-Run: 19-X-X-X-4-6-5-[/color]15-X[x6]-25-55-71-37 Release Date: 20th April [2 days only], 11th May [proper release] Chart Sales: +270k And Rita Ora is the first of 3 re-entries this week and the only one not back because I bought it. This re-entry is actually pretty random, probably just to help chart sales a bit more. Rita's biggest hit remains R.I.P at around 580k- also still her only number 1 I think. I love I Will Never Let You Down and it spent 3 weeks in the top 10 peaking at 4 This post has been edited by Ultraviolence: 16th August 2014, 11:54 PM |

'If I Could Change Your Mind' is wonderful, probably my second favourite from them behind the sublime 'Falling' It's my third favourite after Don't Save Me and The Wire. I love literally all their songs though. Falling is probably my 5th favourite and that is still a 10/10 for me. Love Haim Thanks for commenting Jade |

Celine Dion- My Heart Will Go On Chart-Run: No Chart-Run as way too long over too many years. Peaked at 3 in 2014 and has been 1 of course before Release Date: 1997 Chart Sales: +6,800M [+280k from 2014, 41 for the year] And Celine is back with her amazing and beautiful track from Titanic after I have finally bought it from the Now 1998 album. Titanic is one of my favourite films of all time and I absolutely adore My Heart Will Go On so so much. This peaked back at 3 for 2014 after re-entering in February due to me re-watching Titanic. I recommend everyone to see Titanic if they haven't and definitely listen to this beautiful ballad. One of my faves |

Sigma Ft Paloma Faith- Changing Chart-Run: 35 Scheduled Release Date: 14th September 2014 Chart Sales: +10k My chart has never ever included songs that haven't been released yet apart from the rare exception [Lana is the only one released by more than 1 week early- west coast was 6 weeks early]. However as I have now expanded my chart to a top 40 permanently, I have reversed this rule. Any song is eligible to chart that has not been released on ITunes yet if they are available on spotify. Also they won't go that high till actual release. The first and only benefactor of this new rule this week is Sigma and Paloma's Faith new dance track and surely future #1 on my personal chart if they can beat Amelia. I love Changing and it is already one of my favourite dance tracks ever. This will have a few weeks low top 40 before it storms up on the 14th September. Sigma's previously highest charting single is Nobody To Love at 21 and Paloma has had I think 2 number 1's and a million seller. This is also the first of 3 Paloma songs on this weeks chart, she is a contender for 1 with Trouble With My Baby. While we are talking about contenders THIS WEEKS NUMBER 1 CONTENDERS Cheryl Cole Ft Tinie Tempah- Crazy Stupid Love Christina Perri Ft Ed Sheeran- Be My Forever Kiesza- Giant In My Heart Paloma Faith- Trouble With My Baby The Saturdays- What Are You Waiting For This post has been edited by Ultraviolence: 17th August 2014, 12:05 AM |

Lana Del Rey- Shades Of Cool Chart-Run: 9-18-12-16-13-14-15-21-21-27-34 Release Date: 1st June Chart Sales: +235k And the expansion of the top 40 means Lana now has 4 songs on the chart this week. The first is for a song never released as a single in my chart- Shades Of Cool I believe is only 2nd to As Long As I Got You in that section. I love Shades Of Cool and it is one of my favourites from massive multi selling album Ultraviolence. The track only spent 1 week in the top 10 and never went higher than 9th [despite being 5th in chart update] but it grew some legs and spent a further 6 weeks in the top 20, but that has nothing on Video Games which spent something crazy like 15 weeks in the top 20 this year without going top 10 |

La Roux- Uptight Downtown Chart-Run: 10-24-28-33 Release Date: 20th July Chart Sales: +75k Well La Roux single's comeback this year has been dreadful but at least the album has been successful for them. First single Let Me Down Gently might have debuted at 1 but only spent 3 consecutive weeks in the top 20, only just passed silver and the lowest selling #1 this year by at least 150k. This single limped to a top 10 place and is already falling down the charts. It probably won't make it to 100k though La Roux's comeback track could have done a lot worst. I do really like the song which is why it hasn't bombed. She have been much more of an album seller in my chart this year, it was the complete opposite 5 years ago |

Ellie Goulding- How Long Will I Love You Chart-Run: Peaked at 4 last year [but sold over 105k on OW, November 2013 was a bloodbath with double Lily, Gaga, Bastille, Little Mix, Britney and so much more] Release Date: November 2013 Chart Sales: +805k And the last re-entry this week comes courtesy of the fabulous Ellie Goulding who has had 6 number 1's on my chart [Under The Sheets, Starry Eyed- her biggest selling one, The Writer, Figure 8, Anything Could Happen and Burn]. This is back for many different reasons. The main two are that I finally bought this amazing song and that it was featured in the amazing new BBC1 drama In The Club [everyone watch it if you haven't it's amazing]. I love Ellie Goulding and How Long Will I Love You so much and I am so glad it's back in my chart. This post has been edited by Ultraviolence: 17th August 2014, 12:23 AM |

Ella Eyre- If I Go Chart-Run: 4-20-19-22-31 Release Date: 13th July Chart Sales: +155k And Ella Eyre tumbles 9 places with her first solo single to chart in Ultraviolence's personal chart. The song has had pretty good legs apart from that second week plummet and has had an ok if abliet quite disappointing sales total. If I Go did certainly not deserve to bomb in the official chart as it is a great song. Still need to listen to Comeback |

Ed Sheeran- Don't Chart-Run: 30 Release Date: 10th August on ITunes, no proper release date announced yet Chart Sales: +15k And Ed scores his 2nd top 40 single from X after Sing which debuted in 5 before plummeting quickly. However Don't will be rising over the next few weeks and it definitely hasn't peaked yet. It is becoming my favourite track from X more and more each week and I really like the catchiness to the song. Hope this does well officially and here is this week's 2nd new entry I believe |

Ariana Grande Ft Iggy Azalea- Problem Chart-Run: 1-5-8-15-18-23-29 Release Date: 29th June Chart Sales: +340k Problem is one of the biggest songs that would have done so much better if it was released earlier. Less competition and more time me listening to it would have been such a big benefit but then Austin Mahone was looking to have a massive hit with Mmm Yeah but that spent a grand total of 2 weeks in the top 40. Problem has had a good chart run though but it only spent 3 weeks in the top 10- including a week at the top. This song also made history as it was the first single in the top 10 to get the exact same sales as another song [Right Here]. Anyway Problem still has a few weeks less and Ariana and Iggy won't mind as it was still a big hit. They also won't mind as Ariana has a new entry later on and Iggy has a new entry and a holdover also still to come This post has been edited by Ultraviolence: 17th August 2014, 01:08 AM |

Lily Allen- As Long As I Got You Chart-Run: 3-7-11-7-17-15-15-5-14-19-17-18-20-24-28 Release Date: 5th May Chart Sales: +585k And the amazing Lily Allen is set to claim her 4th platinum single next week in less than a year [Hard Out Here- 4.7m, Somewhere Only We Know- 3.9M, Air Balloon- 940k] next week. The song looked like it would have poor legs after the first couple of weeks but it held on better before receiving a massive boost because of Glastonbury. The song has continued to hold well ever since and is now only 10k off from platinum. It is also by far the biggest selling non-single song this year unless something has slipped past me. As Long As I Got You is also one of few songs this year to have been number 1 in the chart update but never reach that feat. I hope this gets pushed a single officially and I love the video |

Iggy Azalea Ft Rita Ora- Black Widow Chart-Run: 27 Scheduled Release Date: 17th August Chart Sales: +15k And Iggy and Rita are massive contenders for one of the biggest climbs to number 1 next week in a chart full of pretty weak competition at the top at the moment. The Kill Bill kind of themed video [which you can watch above] is amazing and my favourite video since... well Fancy which was the best since eh,eh,eh,eh,eh,eh Telephone. The song will get a kind of early release this week in my chart as it is already on ITunes and this will aim to be both artists 2nd number 1's [however neither have had a solo number 1- problem and R.I.P]. I love Black Widow and hope they score another massive hit in the charts |
