I LOVE the verses, but the chorus (such as it is) is a total non starter, which is a shame as up until now I've largely loved her single choices.

This for me.

I was loving the chanting lead up to the breakdown but for me, the breakdown is a really big disappointment when it comes to it.

May grow as there's bits of I love, much like John but as a whole song, it's not wowing me yet.

The absolutely opposite for me, the part of this song I like the most is the breakdown wub.gif Definitely one of my favorite songs released in a little while.

I'm not sure how on earth that chorus could be described as "massive". There's nothing to it. It's a problem I've been having with a lot of big pop songs of late, I want a MASSIVE chorus and I keep getting these mediocre instrumentals which sound either like bridges or like they just forgot to write a chorus altogether.

"Break the rules" sounds great on first listen !
Not to sure on the breakdown post-chorus though, it's bit of a non-event.

Has nothing on 'Boom Clap' but I still like it. The after chorus breakdown does sound a bit out of place though with the rest of the song, maybe just take a bit of getting used to.

Agreed.

It reminds me a lot of Icona pop. I do want big things for her, but kind of miss her grimy-pop sound, as with 'What I Like'

Agree that this is like Icona Pop - which is logical enough I guess. I think the lyrics really restrict it's target audience somewhat.
