Yay!

I've actually forgotten who would be in contention now. Repeat win for Not Ready To Make Nice out of the likely contenders I think for me. Unless Da Buzz or the Asians have pulled off a shocker.

There are no deductions.

Only 6 nations wouldn't get a deduction and with so few voters it altered the votes a little too much for me to be comfortable with. Even though Mutya seriously benefited from the deductions.

HERE WE GO!!!

Vote 1/15 - Danaelanda

Here are the results of the Danaelandan televote.

One point goes to FSR Rontvia. The song has become recognisable to many citizens through its regular use in commercials, but that hasn't put us off voting for it.

Two points go to Bhangra. Their song won the contest originally and we wouldn't mind too much if it won again, although there are 8 songs we prefer.

Three points go to Romeria. The song is undeniably a classic 80s powah-anthem and for that it deserves some points.

Four points go to Land of Jack. Whilst it is not the best song associated with Therese, and we strongly recommend 'Put Em High' and 'Take Me Away', it is quite good.

Five points go to Angelicland. Another good song here which is strongly helped by Robyn's vocals.

Six points go to New Alba. The song doesn't make any lyrical sense but despite that it's another great 80s song.

Seven points go to Frahliso. Luciana is no unknown in Danaelanda, where Yeah Yeah was one of the biggest selling singles of 2006. Viva La Difference once again proves that she can make a good song, though it is not up with her best.

Eight points go to Botanikka, who provide us with a lovely dance-pop ballad.

Ten points go to Simondly. Verbalicious' rapping and nasty attitude on the song make for an urban swagfest which Danaelandans can only get behind.

Twelve points go to Cascadia. Having entered former Danaelandan representatives 4 Strings, and with its trance beat and lovely vocals, there was only going to be one winner for us.

+12 / Cascadia: 4 Strings - Let It Rain
+10 / Simondly: Verbalicious - Don't Play Nice
+08 / Botanikka: Da Buzz - Wonder Where You Are
+07 / Frahliso: Portobella feat. Luciana - Viva La Difference
+06 / New Alba: Nik Kershaw - The Riddle
+05 / Angelicland: Robyn - Keep This Fire Burning
+04 / Land of Jack: Danny feat. Therese - If Only You
+03 / Romeria: Europe - The Final Countdown
+02 / Bhangra: Dixie Chicks - Not Ready To Make Nice
+01 / FSR Rontvia: Andreas Johnson – Glorious

I'm going to have to remind myself of that 4 Strings song now. I remember most of the entries but that didn't stand out to me at all. But then neither did Dan's entry with them 50 contests later kink.gif

Vote 4/15 - Séyetana

Hi, here are the votes for BJSC III Reloaded from Séyetana. As is now our policy for voting on Reloaded contests, we have penalised tracks we believe would have been vetoed or at least been borderline had the current system been in place in 2008. Because no-one needs Mercy triumphing tonight.

12 Botanikka: Da Buzz - Wonder Where You Are - What a debut! On the rankings of first entries this must come pretty high - as a lost early 00s bit of europop it's almost a perfect example of that; longing and beautiful in the same measure. While I've known this for ages I did originally listen to it due to it being near the top of the Songs Of thread and it was love from then on, so in terms of BJSC, it's still a great discovery.

10 Utopia: The Shortwave Set - Casual Use - Best 'new' discovery from this, had it in my head for quite a lot after listening and as a debut it's not far behind Wonder Where You Are at all. So cool and chilled.

08 Phinechendza: Sunrise Avenue - Fairytale Gone Bad - Not a discovery as I listened to it originally off becoming a fan of SA through Hollywood Hills, but a great entry for Phinechendza (taken from us too soon ) to bow out on.
They really are like a Finnish version of 3 Doors Down or something, so naturally I love them. One of their best.

07 Kingdom of Waldia: Ryuichi Kawamura - Ne - Really wasn't expecting much of this but it sounds really compelling and this guy, whoever he is, can pull off a ballad exceedingly well. Plenty of points for the Far East from moi is fairly normal to see, but this even beats out my J-pop fave Ayumi, which I wasn't expecting at all. How inspired would be sending a Japanese male soloist be even today? Top marks for getting the contest figured out right Waldia. Only not getting my 12 because the top 3 are just as essential if not more.

06 Bokia: Ayumi Hamasaki - Marionette - Ayumi is always so flawless. Surprised Boyan had the good sense to enter this early but I'm not complaining at all. Lovely song and it sounds pretty accessible for J-Pop.

05 Spila: Banghra - My Own Way - Latin! Fun! Inspired! I love this sort of thing from early BJSC.

04 FSR Rontvia: Andreas Johnson - Glorious - I love this, always have, so despite UK top 10 hit status I'm voting for it. Hardly the cheapest thing here anyway, despite it being the cheapest Rontvian entry ever.

03 Pendulous Republic of Nørk*: Jordin Sparks - Freeze - Yeah I know it's Jordin Sparks but this is pretty beautiful isn't it?

02 Bhangra: Dixie Chicks - Not Ready To Make Nice - Nice original winner and I wouldn't really mind too much if it won again. There are probably bigger fans of it though, the quality and/or inspiration of this contest drops off like a brick below this.

01 Camdonia: Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues - In a death fight for my last point between Bob Dylan and Mutya Buena, Bob was left victorious due to copious usage of guitar.

Apologies to The Final Countdown, which I love but never really need to hear of my own volition again, and certainly not in a way where I'd give it BJSC points, The Riddle, which is lovely but not quite lovely enough, Keep This Fire Burning which missed out because as if I'm giving BJSC points to Robyn on something that's nowhere near her best anyway, Don't Play Nice which was catchy but a bit bratty, and Addiction which came so close but was not quite good enough.

16 / Bhangra: Dixie Chicks - Not Ready To Make Nice 28
15 / Pendulous Republic of Nørk*: Jordin Sparks - Freeze 20
13 / Botanikka: Da Buzz - Wonder Where You Are 20
21 / Land of Jack: Danny feat. Therese - If Only You 19
02 / New Alba: Nik Kershaw - The Riddle 16
05 / Cascadia: 4 Strings - Let It Rain 14
18 / Simondly: Natalia Kills* - Don't Play Nice 14
23 / Bokia: Ayumi Hamasaki - Marionette 12
24 / Angelicland: Robyn - Keep This Fire Burning 10
09 / Utopia: The Shortwave Set - Casual Use 10
22 / Mdiče: The Veronicas - Hook Me Up 9
03 / Rivandia: Duffy - Mercy 8
12 / Phinechendza: Sunrise Avenue - Fairytale Gone Bad 8
10 / Frahliso: Portobella feat. Luciana - Vive La Difference 7
17 / Kingdom of Waldia: Ryuichi Kawamura - Nē 7
04 / Kylienips: Tamsin Archer - Sleeping Satellite 6
11 / Xanaga*: Liberty X - Song For Lovers 6
20 / FSR Rontvia: Andreas Johnson - Glorious 5
14 / Spila: Banghra - My Own Way 5
07 / Romeria: Europe - The Final Countdown 3
08 / Ashton: Mutya Buena - Addiction 3
25 / Farahtyn: Emma Lahana - Patiently 1
06 / Camdonia: Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues 1
01 / Tapatilandia: Alucinado - Yahir 0
19 / Astoria: Dani - Kazi mi 0

Voting for that rancid c**t Andreas makes the baby Jesus cry.

I wouldn't vote for Andreas on anything I've heard of his... EXCEPT Glorious, which is really wonderful in its own way.

biggrin.gif though because Silas vs Andreas will be one of the best things about these results.
