Really like the look of shutthefrontdoor, but absolutely no chance I will be backing it at the price it currently is, and will only get shorter. While it would be a fairytale, it's the type of horse I would take a punt on the price is actually should be (about 16/18-1). There's no justification for it going off as favourite apart from it being McCoy's last National ride. 7-1 no thanks.
Gone for Unioniste, Spring Heeled, Dolatulo, Cause of Causes, St Are and Royale Knight. Quite fancy The Druids Nephew as well, but I think I will wait until race day to see if I back it as the price isn't great at the moment, although it's fair to see why it's quite short. Really like Cause of Causes - history states it shouldn't win, but it just seems like one of those horses that can destroy the rule book completely. On that basis you have to back Spring Heeled as well, because I think they're both quite equal horses, and it appears that it's been trained specifically for the National so they must think it has a great chance. The rest of my selections are just punts on the horse finding form, or the trainers. Good luck to everyone. |

Gone for The Druids Nephew, Spring Heeled, Balthazar King and Court By Surprise. Took the price on four of them yesterday.
Those three will be fresh following lay-off and hopefully The Druids Nephew will have recovered fully following his win at Cheltenham. |

I definitely would if I were you to back him again. He stands a very good chance. He jumps well and he is the right age to win it.

I have Godsmejudge, Alvarado and Oscar Time backed each-way~ the former rewarded me when winning the Scottish National 2 yrs ago, he can stay for sure i think, not put off much by the recent form. Also with Alvarado i hope to see Paul Moloney's awesome string of places in this continue *.*

I know absolutely nothing about horse racing (the betting side) & don't even pretend to!
Just take a punt on a random horse I like the name of each year. Put a tenner on Court By Surprise (a very apt name too if if indeed wins). |

My family put bets on each year and we always get to choose 3/4 horses each
I chose this year: rocky creek, night in Milan, rainbow hunter and royale knight |

Nothing. As usual. THEY HARDLY EVER EVEN MENTION MY HORSES EVERY YEAR.
Had £2.50 each way on both Oscar Time and First Lieutenant. SUPERB for a jockey to win twice in a row though, very rare occurence and 5th for McCoy, which is still respectable even if it isn't the dream finish that many had spoken of. |

Lost an absolute fortune today!!!
I couldn't hear a thing at Aintree from the commentary, but I think 4/5 of my horses fell in the National, and then I thought Saint Are was going to win. Bloody 2nd!!! Shutthefrontdoor was flying like a train, but just lost momentum in the final couple of fences. Didn't think it would win, and glad it didn't as I was supremely confident that it wouldn't! |
