Now is the time when I reveal the results. 12 of you played and I did also, which means I beat Spinning Adam's participants record
Here is a reminder of the questions and who played. Questions 1. Name a record label that releases dance music 2. Name a dance act that has not (yet or at all) released a studio album 3. Name a music festival that has primarily dance acts playing at it 4. Name a dance song that went to #1 in the UK in 2013 5. Name a song that its genre is best described as trance 6. Name a non-album single by Avicii (any song that may be featured on Stories does not count) 7. Name a studio album released by David Guetta or Calvin Harris 8. Name a dance song that went to #1 in Thermos Hot 50 in 2015 9. Name a Dutch DJ 10. Name an artist who has had a singles rate in the dance forum Players Dan Josh Cody Slayberry Ultraviolence1989 Jahq Math Dircadirca James1987 Dobbo Ethan Rush Spinning Adam Jade (13) We'll start with question one, and one answer in particular won by a landslide, any guesses as to what? |

1. Name a record label that releases dance music
Spinnin Records (11) Dan, Josh, Cody Slayberry, Jahq, Math, Dircadirca, James1987, Dobbo, Ethan, Rush, Spinning Adam, Jade Ultra (0) Ultraviolence1989 Spinnin' Records obviously wins then, no surprise there as they have been such a prominent label recently and undeniably have the most selling power in dance music. Some of the biggest acts are signed to the label, including Tiesto, Sander van Doorn, Showtek, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Oliver Heldens and Martin Garrix. |

2. Name a dance act that has not (yet or at all) released a studio album
Martin Garrix (4) Dan, Jahq, Dircadirca, Dobbo, Spinning Adam Oliver Heldens (1) Cody Slayberry, James1987 Duke Dumont (1) Math, Ethan Kygo (1) Josh, Rush Pep & Rash (0) Ultraviolence1989 Years & Years (0) Jade Martin Garrix tops the list here as I predicted, it's amazing how little time it has taken for him to become one of the biggest DJs of the now. He is due to have an album soon however, which will feature 'Don't Look Down' and probably 'Rewind Repeat It' featuring Ed Sheeran, which has been floating around as a live rip for a while now and sounds like a big hit. Other choices here include Oliver Heldens, Duke Dumont and Kygo who have not yet confirmed albums, although I imagine they will come eventually. Duke Dumont especially needs to release his sometime soon as it's been 2 years since 'Need U (100%)' was released now, and he said it would be coming "early 2015" but that's clearly not happened. Pep & Rash are correct but do make for an odd choice as they are not as prominent as the others in the list. I very much doubt they'll release an album anyway. Also Years & Years scores no points, possibly as some associate them more with the indie forum (they do have threads in both forums and the mods can't make their mind up on where they should go). |

3. Name a music festival that has primarily dance acts playing at it
Tomorrowland (5) Dan, Cody Slayberry, Math, Dircadirca, Ethan, Spinning Adam Creamfields (2) Jahq, James1987, Jade Coachella (1) Josh, Dobbo Ultra Music Festival (0) Rush Wrong: Drum and Bass (0) Ultraviolence1989 Arguably the biggest dance music festival in the world, Tomorrowland, is top of the list here. The other major dance festival, Ultra, gets only 1 person answering it, oops. Creamfields also gets some rep, notably this is the only festival on the list that is in the UK (Tomorrowland is in Belgium and Coachella/Ultra are in the US). Ultraviolence1989 either read the question wrong or thought there was a festival called Drum and Bass. There are many festivals that play drum and bass music but I couldn't find any that are actually called Drum and Bass. It is the first wrong answer of the quiz. Wrong answers will score you zero in this, although there isn't a single occasion where multiple people have chosen the same wrong answer so this rule has no effect on the scores. |

4. Name a dance song that went to #1 in the UK in 2013
Avicii feat. Aloe Blacc Wake Me Up (5) Dan, Jahq, Math, Dobbo, Ethan, Jade Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers Get Lucky (4) Josh, Dircadirca, James1987, Rush, Spinning Adam Martin Garrix Animals (0) Ultraviolence1989 Wrong: Lilly Wood & The Prick & Robin Schulz Prayer In C (0) Cody Slayberry It is the truly impactful 'Wake Me Up' that is top of the list here. I'm sure you're already convinced that this is one of the biggest songs of our generation commercially, but its 9 million worldwide sales, 900 million views on youtube and 360 million spotify plays are worth mentioning again *.* It is also one of my favourite songs of all time and one of the reasons why I chose UK dance #1s of 2013 as a question, the other being 'I Could Be The One'. You would never guess what they have in common 'Get Lucky' which finishes just behind it in the list had similar success commercially too and is a really good song, so great choices here buzzjack. Cody Slayberry read the question wrong unfortunately and put down Prayer In C, which went to #1 in 2014. |

5. Name a song that its genre is best described as trance
Darude Sandstorm (4) Dan, Math, Dircadirca, Dobbo, Ethan DJ Sammy & Yanou Heaven (0) Josh Tiesto Adagio For Strings (0) Cody Slayberry N-Trance Set You Free (0) Jahq PPK Resurrection (0) James1987 Robert Miles Children (0) Rush Armin van Buuren Save My Night (0) Spinning Adam ATB 9PM (Till I Come) (0) Jade Wrong: Shake It Off or Let It Go (have no clue what trance is so ill go for those 2 ) (0) Ultraviolence1989 Only one answer would actually give you points here then, and the defining anthem of trance music has been decided as Darude 'Sandstorm'! One of my favourite songs ever let alone just trance songs, so for that reason I'm glad it tops the list. Well that and me getting more points Ultra doesn't even know what trance is though EDUCATE YO'SELF GUUUURL. The songs mentioned in the list are good places to start anyway. Although 'Set You Free' isn't strictly trance I'll let Jahq off as the group have 'trance' in their name and there was a trance remix of it that did chart. Either way you get zero points though, oop. |

6. Name a non-album single by Avicii (any song that may be featured on Stories does not count)
I Could Be The One (7) Josh, Ultraviolence1989, Jahq, James1987, Dobbo, Ethan, Spinning Adam, Jade Levels (4) Dan, Cody Slayberry, Math, Dircadirca, Rush Only two answers here as people go for Avicii's biggest non-album singles, the UK #1 'I Could Be The One' being on top here but 'Levels' also being a good shout. Both of these songs are 11/10 moments but I slightly prefer 'Levels' and I'd say that had more cultural impact than any other Avicii song ever released except 'Wake Me Up', so I expected that to be higher. Guess my domination couldn't last all game though. |

7. Name a studio album released by David Guetta or Calvin Harris
Calvin Harris - 18 Months (8) Dan, Josh, Cody Slayberry, Jahq, Dircadirca, James1987, Dobbo, Ethan, Rush Calvin Harris - Motion (2) Ultraviolence1989, Math, Jade David Guetta Nothing But The Beat (0) Spinning Adam Only one person actually named a David Guetta album, further proving that Calvin is far more relevant right now. Who can argue with 18 Months being the top choice though? That era was HUGE and deservedly so, it has lots of amazing songs on it and the quality of that album will probably never get matched again by Harris (or Guetta for that matter) |

8. Name a dance song that went to #1 in Thermos Hot 50 in 2015
Avicii feat. Simon Aldred - Waiting For Love (9) Dan, Josh, Jahq, Math, Dircadirca, James1987, Ethan, Rush, Spinning Adam, Jade Pep & Rash Rumors (1) Cody Slayberry, Ultraviolence1989 Alesso feat. Roy English Cool (0) Dobbo Quite an obvious choice of top answer really considering how much I am looning for 'Waiting For Love' right now, guess I should've asked for one other than that to make it slightly more difficult. Rumors and Cool also get mentions though, both of which spent multiple weeks at #1 of Thermo's Hot 50 and are in my top tunes of the year. |

9. Name a Dutch DJ
Martin Garrix (6) Dan, Cody Slayberry, Ultraviolence1989, Math, Ethan, Rush. Spinning Adam Tiesto (4) Josh, Jahq, Dircadirca, James1987, Dobbo Armin van Buuren (0) Jade Martin Garrix gets another top answer here, amazingly beating the likes of Tiesto and Armin who have been in the business since he was in nappies (we are not letting 'diapers' become a thing in the UK ). The Netherlands really do create a lot of successful DJs though, as does Sweden. |

10. Name an artist who has had a singles rate in the dance forum
Avicii (3) Dan, Ultraviolence1989, Ethan, Jade Calvin Harris (3) Josh, Jahq, Dircadirca, James1987 Diplo (3) Cody Slayberry, Math, Dobbo, Spinning Adam David Guetta (0) Rush a three-way tie for the top answer means this question doesn't change things much, although Rush is the only one to choose David Guetta. Looks like he's becoming irrelevant on Buzzjack compared to Calvin and Avicii then. Diplo also is a top answer probably as his rate was the most recent to occur but he is also very big right now, having 2 singles in the UK top 10 right now. So that leaves us with the final results! 1 Dan 59 1 Ethan 59 3 Dircadirca 56 4 Jahq 53 5 Math 50 6 James1987 49 6 Spinning Adam 49 8 Josh 48 9 Dobbo 47 10 Rush 43 11 Cody Slayberry 39 11 Jade 39 13 Ultraviolence1989 19 congratulations to um... me! and Ethan! Danthan slaying everyone in a dance music quiz, only fitting really tbh. Dircadirca isn't far behind picking up the bronze medal. Well done to everyone else who played also |

Haha Sandstorm *.*
Feel silly for the Avicii one, Levels screamed the obvious one to me but I must have neglected that I Could Be The One was a #1 hit! |
