Sigala are looking at a #1 single this week with their debut track "Easy Love" sampling Michael Jackson's hit 'ABC' also Justin Bieber might still be in contention for a second week at #1 with stream sales in his favour. Other key single releases this week come from Kygo with 'Here For You' this time the vocals are supplied by Ella Henderson, already has a #1 single under her belt with 'Ghost' last year. R. City collaborating with Adam Levine lead singer of Maroon 5 on 'Locked Away', Foxes with 'Better Love' and Drake with 'Hotline Bling' aiming to chart inside the top 40. Also bear in mind with X Factor been transmitted over the weekend, we could see the odd old track re-appearing back in the top 40 singles chart. After just 1 week at #1 The Weeknd is facing tough competition this week from rock group legends Iron Maiden with their brand new studio album 'The Book Of Souls'. Other key album releases this week come from Troye Sivan 'Wild' (EP), Five Finger Death Punch 'Got Your Six', Travis Scott 'Rodeo', Oh Wonder 'Oh Wonder', Etherwood 'Blue Leaves', The Wonder Years 'No Closer To Heaven', The View 'Ropewalk' and everyone's favourite Norwegian band who had catchy classic single hits 'Take On Me', 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' and they also sang the James Bond theme track to the The Living Daylights we welcome the return of a-Ha with their brand new studio album 'Cast In Steel'. ======================================================== Structure for the week: Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. Thursday: See Tuesday. All those pre-orders must have counted for something then despite the low sales climate! Gives me hope he can hold on.

Oh well... its early this week, if chart info is out and available on social media, there is no harm in posting the thread topic early. Funny enough I did all the prep commentary this morning ready to go.

Troye Sivan's EP is amazing, is it really eligible to chart on album chart?

According to the Official Charts, in order for a digital release to by classified as an album, it must
1) Have a dealer price (the price it's "sold" to the online store) of at least £3.75 2) Longer than 25 minutes and/or more than four songs 3) Not qualify as a maxi or remix single as defined by singles eligibility. So based on this, would it qualify? |

It's being sold for less than £3.94 so it's unlikely the dealer price would be that high. I don't know whether digital only EPs are eligible for the budget album chart?
Maybe it's time they did an EP chart! This post has been edited by AcerBen: 5th September 2015, 03:29 PM |

Hoping 'a mile' can mean Sigala gets 2+ weeks at the top! I think that's mainly due to its substantial pre-orders (I'm pretty sure they were at least 5k+). It'll likely drop off over the week. I wonder if Jess Glynne could challenge for the #1 spot in the album chart given her performance on Strictly seems to have given her quite the boost on iTunes? She should remain pretty stable sales-wise at least. This post has been edited by Envoirment: 6th September 2015, 12:46 AM |
