QUOTE France will select its 2016 Eurovision entry and act via an internal selection. France 2 has opted for an internal selection in order to select the French song and act for Stockholm. Artists, songwriters, composers and singers wishing to represent France at the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest can send in their entries to France 2 until 31 October. The song has to be at least 80% in French and 20% in a foreign language. The pontential candidates can be of any nationality but are required to be able to speak and sing in French. Age limit for the potential artists has been set to 50 years of age. Hereafter a special committee will evaluate all received entries and after making their deliberation will select the 2016 French Eurovision entry and act. The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, France. In 2015 France opted for an internal selection and selected Lisa Angell to fly the French flag with her entry N’obliez pas. France is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest and debuted in the event in 1956 and has won the competition 5 times. http://esctoday.com/105966/france-internal...urovision-2016/ |

Fans seem to be running with the idea that Sasha will be internally selected, after the French Head of Delegation and Director of Entertainment at France 2 tweeted/facebooked about loving her debut single. And it's 3 minutes long.

Surely too good to be true! I assume they wouldn't premiere the single until they reveal it anyway which would rule it out, unless the new head of delegation is majorly changing things up. Seems odd they would hype it now over a month before a potential reveal of it anyway. It's very good though!

Apparently French radio station RTL have said that the Eurovision entry is sung by an unknown singer, but is already being played on radio. Could that mean the Sasha rumour is true?

This seems to be the red hot favourite at the moment in the rumour mill.
It's a very good song so would be pleased if it turned out to be true! |

I love any song that reminds me of summer and this certainly does, France's best entry along with Jessy Matador in the post-2009 era even though I loved Amandine too. I'm pretty sure this completes what is now the best set of big 5 entries since Italy's return (and probably the best set of big 4 entries like ever)! |

Mmm, something's a little off for me. Like I can see it's a good song and it's sure to get France a favourable result finally but there's just a little je ne sais quoi absent. Maybe that'll disappear by May.

A bigger remix than I was expecting, and I think there's a much higher percentage of English in that one compared to the original due to the English lines being repeated more. Will take a bit of getting used to but it's nice that they've gone to so much effort whereas I was just expecting them to chop off the beginning and the end!

Oh this is REALLY good. For me France get it right on all the even numbered years (going back as far as "Divine"). This could well go on to be my favourite French entry since I became an avid Eurovision fan in 2008.

This has zoomed up in the odds in the last few days - now 2nd favourite behind Russia.
I like both this and Russia's so would be happy with either, but France really deserve a win - both because of the country's troubled last few years and the fact they last won in 1977! |

I absolutely adore this, though I keep wanting to break into Two Can Play At That Game by Bobby Brown at all parts of the chorus.
I'm worried that the last time France were so high in the odds was Sognu, and look what happened! |
