TITLE PEAK POSITION YEAR
1 NEVER EVER 1 1997
2 PURE SHORES 1 2000
3 UNDER THE BRIDGE/LADY MARMALADE 1 1998
4 BLACK COFFEE 1 2000
5 BOOTIE CALL 1 1998
6 WAR OF NERVES 7 1998
7 I KNOW WHERE IT'S AT 4 1997
8 ROCK STEADY 3 2006
9 ALL HOOKED UP 7 2001
10 CHICK FIT n/a 2006

It was with second single Never Ever that things really got going. The slick ballad spent eight weeks in the Top 10 before finally grabbing the top spot in January 1998, their first Number 1. Never Ever spent a whopping 15 weeks in the Top 10 alone, and is a million-seller – over 1.35 million copies sold so far.

Their debut album was popular too – over 1.46 million of you took that one home.

I really thought Pure Shores was their biggest seller. Those top two singles are flawless.

'Pure Shores' should be above 800k now, 'Under the Bridge' at 440k+, 'Bootie Call' and 'Black Coffee' at 240k+, 'War of Nerves' at 180k+, 'I Know Where It's At' at 160k+, 'Rock Steady' just below 100k and 'All Hooked Up' at 50k+.

I always thought it was obvious 'Never Ever' was their biggest hit.

'Black Coffee' remains their best for me, but they have some formidable tunes there!

I think 'Never Ever' is in fact the best selling song by girl band too. Both are excellent but I think 'Pure Shores' edges it for me.

Black Coffee should be 3. It goes on a bit but is amazing and smashed alongside Holler and Destiny's Child and solo Spices in 2000, it fitted the year perfectly.

Not a huge fan of 'Never Ever', but 'Pure Shores' is incredible. I've always had a soft spot for it, but hearing it consistently in GTAV has properly reignited my love for it.

I do find it a bit errr how 'War Of Nerves' is higher than 'Rock Steady', but I gather that was released in quite late 1998 and had a bumper first week sales for a #7?

Correct - "War Of Nerves" sold 54,000 copies in its' first week - higher than the first week sales of I Know Where It's At & Never Ever!

All Hooked Up, Bootie Call and Black Coffee <3 Also Rock Steady was a great comeback, shame that Chick Fit was such a misstep...

Never Ever 3-5-6-5-4-4-4-2-1-2-2-4-5-3-7-
Pure Shores 1-1-2-3-7-9-

sales at the end 1997 were at their absolute zenith ~ so much so that when 'never ever' reached #1, in its 9th week, it was the first time its weekly sales had dropped below 80k~

That top 2 are definitely their best, although swap Black Coffee with Under The Bridge, then it would be a perfect top 3. Also surprised that "War Of Nerves" is that high, surprising that the lowest peaking single from their debut, beats their first single, "I Know Where It's At" (still love).

Shame that "Rock Steady" didn't sell more than it did. I thought that it was a fantastic comeback single, okay it doesn't have the same magic as some of their earlier hits had, but pretty damn close. Anyway this is how I'd rank their songs =

Never Ever
Pure Shores
Black Coffee
Under The Bridge
Rock Steady
I Know Where It's At
Bootie Call
Lady Marmalade
All Hooked Up
War Of Nerves
Chick Fit

Don't those two statements contradict each other? Did Never Ever really manage >80k per week for the first 8 weeks of its chart life? Pretty amazing if so!
