Hey guys!!
This is what we were talking about yesterday. So anyway, for tonight Seven, Jordan, Myself and Joseph will all list our favourite song of the last decade with some commentary and then from tonight at MIDNIGHT you guys can let everyone know just what your own favourite song of the last decade is too. So that's any Song from Jan 1st 2006 right Up until the present Here's one I prepared earlier My favourite song of the last decade is.... *Drum Roll Please* CARLY RAE JEPSEN - RUN AWAY WITH ME There were so many songs to choose from and for Me it was between this Carly Song or The Saturdays - Disco Love but ultimately I much prefer Run Away With Me. It's just so infectious, the 80's feel to it, the vocals, the Melody. You name it, the song has it. It's no secret that I'm a massive fan of the song though, I mean just look at the chart run for it on my Personal Chart | Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me | 06-01-01-01-03-04-09-03-06-10-06-03-02-08-08-05-06-07-09-10-04-10-13-17-21-28-19-16-06-09-07-11-11-12-11-09-12-09-09 | 39 wks. I've honestly never loved a song so much as this and I am incredibly Grateful to have been able to experience it. I Know a few people on the forum think it's overrated but that's just shite Hopefully with all the Run Away With Memes floating around the song finally properly takes off and I'll be one very happy chappie Anyway, that's my favourite song - now over to the other Mods ❤❤❤ |

Like this idea!
Think everyone knows what my favourite song of the last decade is (with that like 90 week chart-run that I'll try and find again!) |

Yep. Just post your favourite song with some commentary. If you've charted it, including chart runs is optional as is including a video.

7's Pick....
"Shuffle" by Bombay Bicycle Club "weight is coming off, soaring high" Coincidentally the song that was my personal #1 when first joining Buzzjack! Sometimes the 'best' songs for you are the ones you can attach to important memories or specific points in time- and this song basically IS the summer of 2011 for myself. I'd just finally got out of high school by this point, and "Shuffle" was the perfect upbeat, feel-good musical accompaniment to a lazy, carefree summer That vibrant piano riff is a key element, running all throughout the track and lodging itself in your head effortlessly, and not just the chorus but the ENTIRE track packs an anthemic, sing-along punch. And even though this was my unequivocal summer anthem from 2011, it still sounds sprightly as ever almost 5 years later. Say you haven't had enough, say you wanna ~ |

Joseph's Pick: Girls Aloud - Something New
My Chart Run: 1-1-2-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-1-2-3-4-3-3-3-3-5-6-8-7-5-7-8-8-9-9-13-12-12-16-14-20-23-30-37-X What else could it possibly be?? Girls Aloud came back with a BANG in 2012 after a three-year hiatus, with a greatest hits album and tour in tow, as well as this killer lead single. Something New opens with the line “GO GIRLS G-G-GO GO GO” and goes on to say that they’re the “LEADERS OF THE PACK”, going to show that despite being away, they’re still on top of their game. Each member gets their moment to shine on this track, particularly Nadine and Sarah in verse 2. It got to a decent peak of #2 in the official chart, boosted by it being the official Children In Need single of 2012, but sadly didn’t hang around well, spending only 2 further weeks top 40, quite a travesty for a song this incredible really. After 3 and a half years, it’s still such a huge jam for me and has failed to get old at all. It spent 8 non-consecutive weeks at #1 in my personal chart, which remains the all-time record, and also topped the multichart. It’s just a shame they released Beautiful ‘Cause You Love Me afterwards and then split Either way, it's a huge all-time fave of mine and my personal favourite track from my favourite artist ever. OTHER SHOUTOUTS (cause these songs are simply too good to ignore) Beyoncé & Shakira - Beautiful Liar Cody Simpson feat. Becky G - Wish U Were Here Conrad Sewell - Hold Me Up Delta Goodrem - I Can't Break It To My Heart Estelle feat. Kanye West - American Boy Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No... Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX - Fancy Kate Nash - Foundations Lily Allen - Hard Out Here One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful Sara Bareilles - Love Song Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie Sugababes - About You Now The Vamps - Can We Dance Ulrik Munther - Heroes In Defeat (Change Your Mind) AND MANY OTHERS. It's been a fab decade for music OK!!!1! |

Shuffle is brilliant !
Here are some personal chart related facts about Bombay Bicycle Club and that songs performance on my chart. It was also #1 in my Top 100 of 2011. Entered chart: 26th June 2011 at #36 Hit #1: 31st July 2011 on its 6th week CR: 36-16-08-05-02-01-01-01-02-03-03-06-06-07-09-11-17-22-26-30-32-35-43 (23 weeks) Facts: *The group have spent 170 weeks on my chart. *They were last on the chart on 4 January 2015 with “Home By Now” which peaked at #13 in December 2014. *They have only had one #1 but have a further ten Top 10 hits. *Their first hit was “Always Like This” which charted in April 2009. |

Riser's pick:
La Roux “Bulletproof” So, I started following the UK charts just as La Roux were breaking through and ‘In For The Kill’ was becoming a big hit. Then ‘Bulletproof’ premiered and it was immediately the best discovery I had made in my short time as a chart fan. It was good enough to see it at #1 in the UK, but then it crossed over to the US the following year and was a massive hit there as well, a dream come true for me! As wonderful as the song is, it’s not the sort of thing that would normally do well in the US, especially in 2010, so this is by far my fondest memory of watching a song turn into a big hit... that’s why I’ve included it here as my favorite song from the last decade. |

Say you haven't had enough, say you wanna ~ I really like Shuffle.its a fantastic track and I'm glad to see such a recent Song actually be your fave of the last ten years although I think a song could pop up tomorrow and ultimately end up your favourite song of all time. I'm pretty sure Run Away With Me is vying for my favourite song of all time. So yeah, fab choice x Joseph's Pick: Girls Aloud - Something New My Chart Run: 1-1-2-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-1-2-3-4-3-3-3-3-5-6-8-7-5-7-8-8-9-9-13-12-12-16-14-20-23-30-37-X What else could it possibly be?? Joseph trust you to be the different one Long Hair Don't Care right? Something New is fantastic as well although I do prefer their farewell single as much as a flop it was. The ballad was gorgeous and maybe ending with Something New would Have been a great wee not to the fact that they would be doing other things Great choice also. Riser's pick: La Roux “Bulletproof” So, I started following the UK charts just as La Roux were breaking through and ‘In For The Kill’ was becoming a big hit. Ahh What a classic track. This really takes me back a good few years (When I was still young. Mow) I really liked La Roux but where is she/they now? I could so with a decent Comeback. Also an excellenté choice |

So out of touch with that's in the charts these days, listening to that Carly song I'm fairly sure that I have never heard it before

Was torn between two - first thought "Red Dress" by Sugababes (which only just makes the cut, released in March 2006 - and the last song to enter my charts at No.1!)
but it has to be 2014's "Elevate" by St Lucia Chart run: 3 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 5 - 10 - 16 - 23 - 30 - 37 = 16 weeks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HPMK9Uxq3I |
