Bruno Mars' Official Top 10 biggest songs revealed
12 October 2016 | By Justin Myers Bruno's back – here's how his back catalogue of hits ranks so far. It's been a while, but Bruno Mars is back with a capital B with brand-new single 24K Magic. Although he did have a lengthy stint at Number 1 with his old mate Mark Ronson on Uptown Funk – bit of an unknown buzz single, not sure if you've heard it – Bruno hasn't been seen all alone in the Top 40 for just over three years. But what a chart record he has. Fourteen Top 40s, with nine of those going Top 10 and an incredible five of them hitting Number 1. And when it comes to million-sellers, Bruno has it going on. We delved into the stats, added his downloads, streams and physical sales, to reveal Bruno's 10 biggest songs in the UK. First, let's take a close look at the big 5: 5: The Lazy Song (2011) While Bruno may not have felt like doing anything, this song certainly did. The Lazy Song, which was the final hit off his debut album Doo-Wops and Hooligans, is Bruno's most recent Number 1 all on his own. It spent a month at Number 2 in total, managing to nudge off LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem to spend a single week at the top. The song came about after a hard day in the studio where Bruno had been putting the hours in but still didn't like the results. He was about to throw in the towel when inspiration struck. When The Lazy Song hit the top, it was Bruno's fourth Number 1 in the space of a year. Its 8.9 million streams and 747,000 sales make it Bruno's fifth biggest tune. 4: Locked Out of Heaven (2012) This retro tune, inspired by The Police, was the lead single from Bruno's sophomore effort Unorthodox Jukebox. It spent three weeks at Number 2, beaten to the top by One Direction, Olly Murs and Gabrielle Aplin, who sang that year's John Lewis advert. Since streaming started counting toward the chart in 2014, Locked Out Of Heaven has amassed 16.1 million plays. Its sales tally stands at 852,000. 3: Grenade (2011) Another chart-topper from Bruno's amazing first year of success, Grenade was one of the last songs to be completed for his debut album. Apparently, it was changed at the last minute from an uptempo to the moody, dramatic number we know today. Grenade has logged 9.3 million streams since 2014, and when it comes to sales, it's not far from being a million-seller, with 987,000 copies sold. Watch out for Grenade turning seven-digits sometime next year, maybe? 2: Just The Way You Are (Amazing) (2010) The very first single from Bruno's debut album, Just The Way You Are was his second Number 1 in the UK, after his collaboration with B.O.B. – Nothin' On You. The track, which had the (Amazing) added to its title for us lucky Brits only, had two stints at Number 1, each for a week, three weeks apart. It certainly did amazingly, spending two months in the Top 10 and 26 weeks – that's six months – in the Top 40. Just The Way You Are has notched up 14 million streams since we started counting in 2014, and it was also Bruno's first million seller, shifting 1.32 million copies. (Amazing.) 1: Uptown Funk (2014) Not so much a song as a phenomenon, this track took off in a big way when it was performed on The X Factor by Fleur East before its actual UK release. Demand was so high that the release date was brought forward by a month! Bruno may have only been a guest star on Mark Ronson's huge hit, but it wouldn't be the same without him. Uptown Funk was Number 1 for seven weeks and has racked up sales of over 1.6 million, plus 88.4 million streams! Here's Bruno Mars' Official all-time Top 10: TITLE PEAK YEAR 1 UPTOWN FUNK 1 2014 1,600,000 (2,484,000) 2 JUST THE WAY YOU ARE (AMAZING) 1 2010 1,320,000 (1,460,000) 3 GRENADE 1 2010 987,000 (1,080,000) 4 LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN 2 2012 852,000 (1,013,000) 5 THE LAZY SONG 1 2011 747,000 (836,000) 6 WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN 2 2012 7 MARRY YOU 11 2011 8 BILLIONAIRE 3 2010 9 TREASURE 12 2012 10 NOTHIN' ON YOU 1 2010 ©2016 Official Charts Company. Crazy that Treasure has sold more than Nothin' On You Marry You is less surprising, but still having two non-top 10 hits beat a #1 is impressive!

I think Locked Out of Heaven for me is my favourite - i was obsessed with that song. Of course you cant deny the classic that Uptown Funk has become though - very very close between the two.

Bruno Mars' biggest singles on the Official Chart
11 January 2018 | By Justin Myers Bruno's new single Finesse has arrived - here's how his back catalogue of hits ranks so far. "Ooh, don't we look good together?" Yes Bruno Mars, you and the Official Chart make a cute couple. With 14 Top 40 singles, nine of which reached the Top 10, and five of those hitting Number 1, Bruno Mars has been one of the pop's biggest stars of the decade. And when it comes to million-sellers, Bruno also has it going on. With a remix of Finesse featuring Cardi B currently surging up the Official Singles Chart, we've delved into the stats and added up his downloads, streams and physical sales to reveal his 10 biggest songs in the UK. First, let's take a close look at the big 5: When I Was Your Man (2012) Bruno's second album Unorthodox Jukebox didn't manage to create a Number 1 single, with two songs peaking at Number 2. When I Was Your Man was one of them, a ballad akin to his previous Number 1 smash Grenade, and there's more than that later. The UK has always had a soft spot for the balladeer in Bruno, and When I Was Your Man is no exception. 669,000 downloads and 28.6 million streams later, WIWYM just surpasses The Lazy Song and 24K Magic as Bruno's fifth biggest song. Locked Out of Heaven (2012) This retro tune, inspired by The Police, was the lead single from Bruno's sophomore effort Unorthodox Jukebox. It spent three weeks at Number 2, beaten to the top by One Direction, Olly Murs and Gabrielle Aplin's cover of The Power Of Love. Since streaming started counting toward the chart in 2014, Locked Out Of Heaven has amassed 27.2 million plays. Its sales tally stands at 864,000. Grenade (2011) One of several chart-toppers from Bruno's incredible first year of success, Grenade was one of the last songs to be completed for his debut album. Apparently, it was changed at the last minute from an uptempo to the moody, dramatic number we know today. The decision paid off. Grenade has logged 19.4 million streams to date, and when it comes to sales, it has *just* passed the million sales threshold, taking his million-sellers tally to three, joining the likes of Adele and Pharrell. Just The Way You Are (Amazing) (2010) The very first single from Bruno's debut album, Just The Way You Are was his second Number 1 in the UK, after his collaboration with B.O.B. – Nothin' On You. The track, which had the (Amazing) added to its title for the British public only, had two stints at Number 1, each for a week, three weeks apart. It certainly did amazingly, spending two months in the Top 10 and 26 weeks – that's six months – in the Top 40. Just The Way You Are has notched up 29 million streams since we started counting in 2014, and it was also Bruno's first million seller, shifting 1.33 million copies. (Amazing.) Uptown Funk (2014) Not so much a song as a phenomenon, this track took off in a big way when it was performed on The X Factor by Fleur East before its actual UK release. Demand was so high that the release date was brought forward by a month. Bruno may have only been a guest star on Mark Ronson's huge hit, but it wouldn't be the same without him. Uptown Funk was Number 1 for seven weeks and has racked up sales of over 1.6 million, plus 115 million streams! Bruno Mars' Official Top 10 biggest songs: TITLE PEAK YEAR 1 UPTOWN FUNK 1 2014 2,750,000 2 JUST THE WAY YOU ARE (AMAZING) 1 2010 3 GRENADE 1 2010 1,194,000 4 LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN 2 2012 1,136,000 5 WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN 2 2012 955,000 6 THE LAZY SONG 1 2011 7 24K MAGIC 5 2016 8 MARRY YOU 11 2011 9 THAT'S WHAT I LIKE 12 2017 10 BILLIONAIRE 3 2010 ©2018 Official Charts Company. Nothin' On You (with B.o.B) which isn't an oversight, it really hasn't sold enough to make the top 10.

To think Billionaire could've been another #1 for Bruno if it wasn't for that haphazard early iTunes release before being swiftly deleted.

Why was Amazing added to Just they Way You Are for the UK?
His Greatest Hits will be amazing when it comes out. Also really think the release of Uptown Funk made labels see the advantage of bringing releases forward even if streaming made it inevitable! |

Also really think the release of Uptown Funk made labels see the advantage of bringing releases forward even if streaming made it inevitable! My guess would be to avoid confusion with Billy Joel's 70s hit of the same name. |
