There used to be a thread on this a few years ago but I'm reviving it with a new look. Where do your #1s tend to climb from, or are they mostly new entries? Post your tallies below!
For me, not counting returns to #1, and counting up to week 282: DEBUT: 96 RE-ENTRY: 4 #2: 13 #3: 13 #4: 4 #5: 5 #6: 2 #7: 6 #8: 4 #9: 1 #10: 4 #11: 1 #12: 2 #13: 3 #14: 7 #17: 5 #18: 1 #25: 1 #27: 1 #31: 1 #35: 1 #38: 2 #40: 1 Joel Adams holds the record for biggest climb to #1, as Please Don't Go climbed 40-1! #1 debuts have become less common in recent times, as my chart is compiled on a Friday evening, so new releases often make a small impact initially and then climb high the following week. |
