Chart Commentary

Ed Sheeran holds firm onto the top spot for a 2nd and 3rd consecutive week and retaining his streak of 100,000+ weekly point tallies. He holds off a heatwave from Calvin Harris et al who resurges back to No.2. Ed also enjoys a further rebound of Shape of You, which almost manages to equalise its original chart peak 16 weeks after it initially charted as it moves 9-3. Elsewhere, Lady Gaga scores her 5th top ten hit with The Cure 11-7, with Rag and Bone Man claiming his 2nd top 20 hit as Skin enters and holds at No.11. Further new entries last week from Katy Perry and a welcome return to One Republic who both debut at numbers 14 and 16 respectively. It becomes only Katy's second ever entry on the chart, following Chained To The Rhythm, but becomes One Republics third following Counting Stars (No.6 2013) and Love Runs Out (No.1 2014).
