Second week of August, 33rd week of the year, and sees a Lana Del Rey 1-2, with a third track entering further down the chart for the Americana altpop singer. Yungen’s Bestie and Honor from DJ Cassidy and Grace join Groupie Love and Cherry in the top 5, along with last week’s holdover Happiness from Deaf Havana. Chelsea Cutler’s Sixteen is the only other holdover in the top 10 from last week; new rises in this week come from Marian Hill, Theia, Tove Lo and Marlene. Other acts rising this week include Brooke Candy, Foster the People and Steve James, while previous #1s Seasons Run and Wild Thoughts continue to extend their run within the top 40.
Sixteen brand new entries all in all this week, including the aforementioned, comprise new tracks from Dev, Prides, Two Door Cinema Club, Tegan and Sara, Echosmith, Luna Blake, Lauren Faith, Emily Rowed, Emily Zeck, Naika, Purity Ring, Stereophonics, Tori Amos and Nadia Ali. Those newies will be getting individual video links and a bit of commentary later on in the week, so check back and that’ll save you having to search them out individually, I’ll update the thread title accordingly when those are done.
