Legitimately only seen one of these so I guess Johhny Depp is my winner by default. He was great though and I'm glad that we got another musical acting nominee as they don't happen very often. In a way, I'm a bit gutted that he stole a lot of the limelight though because Helena Bonham Carter was just as deserving.

In terms of snubs, I thought James McAvoy was pretty brilliant in Atonement (I preferred him to Saoirse Ronan in this to be honest!). It's such a shame he STILL doesn't have an Oscar nomination to his name..

There was only one really deserving of that award that year, and that was Daniel Day-Lewis. End of discussion.
All kidding aside, I do think he was by far the strongest that year and gave a mind blowing performance! He really was terrifying!
