FINALLY we get more news on this and a teaser for the trailer Full thing tomorrow. By the sounds of it, it will be loosely base don the 2013 reboot of the game, with a young inexperienced Lara. But this time she will be looking for her father, played by Dominic West. Walton Goggins is Father Mathias Vogel, who was the main villain in the game. Daniel Wu plays the captain who helps Lara. This already looks better than the two other movies and Alicia IS Lara. |

Looks like it could be good. Maybe one of the best game to screen adaptations, yet?

Looks fab. Glad they've taken some of the more important plot points from the games (Trinity, Matthias etc) rather than making it all up which is where iI think the
other films failed. |

Starting to think this looks pretty naff to be quite honest - getting a bit worried I'm not going to like it... I'm here for Alicia Vikander though and the use of Destiny's Child in the trailer was such a good decision (I hope we get to hear a full-length version of that cover !! *.*) |

I think it looks amazing Loving how they're mainly going down the route of the reboot as they are probs the best TR games ever.

I properly love the Jolie films so was a bit skeptical of this. I love the trailers though! Look incredible and I can't wait to see the film

I'm thinking this will bomb. Like, there's no hype for it whatsoever? :/ Maybe it's just my social circles, but I thought there'd be a far bigger promotional campaign around about now.
I guess there's still about 3 weeks but still... |

Oh I can see this totally bombing, even though it looks amazing It could turn around I guess, but game to movie adaptions never seem to do that well.

This started off really badly for me. The scenes in Britain at the beginning, I found really cringe and Lara comes across as a bit of a spoilt dick with inconsistent characterisation. She rejects her inheritance but acts a bit like a brat when things aren’t going her way.
Anyway, once the story actually got going and Lara started adventuring (and becoming more likeable) it got so much better. I do wish more time had been given to the real story rather than getting to know a rather unlikeable Lara in the first half hour. The action scenes look amazing. I’d be interested in a sequel. |

TBF that is how she is in the games at first. |

This was really kind of crap. But I think that if it gets sequel then the second one could potentially be a lot better now that they’ve set everything up.

It was okay, in the sense that it was a bit of lighthearted throwaway fun and I found Alicia/Lara to be a good character to root for. The plot itself was a bit nonsensical and silly, and the slow start could have been condensed slightly.
I agree with Joe that a sequel could be much better, I always found Tomb Raider 2 SO much better than the first original one. |

I didn’t like either of the original (the first one in particular) but loved this unlike seemingly everyone
