Sam Smith could stay at #1 for a fourth week, but he has big competition from Post Malone whose 'rockstar' (feat. 21 Savage) was at #2 last week with less than a thousand chart sales between them. Also in contention is 'Havana' by Camila Cabello (feat. Young Thug) which has been slowly climbing the chart the past few weeks. A Beyoncé remix of J Balvin & Willy William's "Mi Gente" could see the track return to the top 10, other new releases include the title track from P!nk's forthcoming album "Beautiful Trauma" which will probably miss this week's top 40 as it is for now just a promotional single.

Another busy week in the albums chart with this week's battle for #1 being between Wolf Alice 'Visions Of A Life' and Shania Twain 'Now'. Also in contention for the top 10 are Miley Cyrus 'Younger Now', Demi Lovato 'Tell Me You Love Me', Jamie Lawson 'Happy Accidents' and a Michael Jackson compilation 'Scream'. Other new albums include those from ABBA's Benny Anderson, Hurts, Gerry Cinnamon, BETSY, Four Tet and a live album from Pink Floyd's David Gilmour.

Breakdown of the week

Album chart very interesting this week, I'm guessing we will get at least 7 new entries in Top 10 in early updates (Foo Fighters, The Killers and Ed should hold on).

Chris Rea, another Eighties artist rolling back the years in addition to those mentioned.

Speaking of 80s artists, one of my all time faves Belinda Carlisle wub.gif also releases a new album this week, her first studio album for 10 years. Not sure how it will do though because it's basically Indian yoga mantra chants set to pop music!

I'm guessing 7 or 8 new albums in the top ten. Also possibly Ed Sheeran out of the top five for the first time, certainly a possibility that the whole top five could be new enteries

02 Wolf Alice
04 Demi
05 Miley

I’m guessing this will be the result of the big new entries

Does Shania really have a fanbase left in the UK?

I really hope for Wolf Alice to get to a well deserved number one but the album is far from being number one on the Amazon physicals chart...

Doing well on amazon- Benny Anderson, Michael Jackson, Chris Rea and David Gilmour. Also Russell Crowe's new band Indoor Garden Party have been surprisingly been doing well on Itunes and Amazon so look out for a surprise entry from then. Ella Fitzgerald is the latest artist to have an album with an orchestra, in her case the London Symphony Orchestra, that's also doing well on amazon so should chart.

Tough week to call in the albums!

My rough guess~
Shania Twain #1 (fairly sure she'll get it, Radio 2 support plus the casual buyers will swing it in her favour)
Miley Cyrus and Wolf Alice Top 3 (can see both of them selling about 20k)
MJ #4 (a very pointless collection but it'll sell on his name alone)
Demi Top 5? (or just outside, think this'll perform similarly to her last two albums)
David Gilmour/Jamie Lawson/Benny Andersson Top 10

Fifteen years between Studio Albums is the ultimate test of loyalty. At least demand will have built up.
As she spent 11 weeks at the top (in 1999) with 'Come On Over' and sold more than 3 million copies in the UK you would think some of the fans are at least curious about this release. As Wolf Alice got to #2 with their Debut Album in 2015 with initial sales of around 14k I think Shania should have enough even if Wolf Alice increase their Sales this time.

Seems to have mixed reviews and she won't have sales like before but should do quite well.

Feeder could make Top 10 (Top 20 minimum) with their best of, last album was #10 at around the same time and this one seems to be well received by fans. I know they already have a singles collection out, but this one has a bunch of new tracks on that that one didn’t include!

#2 was a good result for previous compilation 'Singles' in 2006 and in fact £10 is a decent price for this Box set (was lowerered on Friday which is usually a bad sign for a new release but think you are right should make Top 20). Can definitely see at least 10 new entries in Top 20 this week.
