(Banner will be coming in the next few days!)
(quick lil advertisement, this thread has been started exactly a year after the best film of 2017, La La Land, was released in the UK so remember to nominate that film everywhere x) Hello there and welcome to the opening round of Buzzjack's movie awards 2017. Below are some categories where you are able to nominate up to 5 films in each category (unless specified in brackets, e.g. 10 for best film!), these will then be totalled up and sent through to the final round where you vote for your absolute favourites. Any film released in the UK from January 1st 2017 to December 31st 2017 (I've made a pretty definitive list below to help you out but feel free to add your own if they released in the UK between those dates). This is the first Buzzjack Oscars under the new rules (previously we went by American dates) so let the competition start *.* The Oscars being a week later in real life this year gives us more flexibility with dates so there will be 4 weeks for submitting nominations this year followed by 3 weeks of voting for the winners from the nominees list! I'll be taking on the nominating stages for both positive/negative 2017 awards whilst Josh & Jack finish off the 2007/2008 Oscars! Also feel free to nominate even if you have seen as little as 1 or 2 films, every vote counts! The deadline for submitting nominations is the 9th February 23:59PM (no extension will be given), but please try sending your nominations as soon as you can as this would make it a lot easier for us! The razzies will be going up soon & please PM your nominations to me, thank you! In this thread, you can & we encourage you to make For Your Consideration (FYC) Posts!. FYC posts here are posts where you post films & performances & songs etc that'd you loved throughout the year to try & encourage other people to check them out/vote for it by posting what categories they'd stand out in! You can just post the film and categories you suggest it excels in or you can make it creative and use posters & pictures and that! I'll be posting my FYC's after the Razzies Thread goes up for an example! We also have 4 new categories this year! - Best Performance of the Year: Male, female, lead or supporting, this category is for the best and the best. Nominate your favourite 5 performances by any person in a film this year in this category for the ultimate showdown! - Best Score: voting for your favourite music score from a film - Best Look & Style: An award encompassing many of the real life Oscars category that we don't do all off or we'd be here forever. This is the place to submit your favourite films based on their aesthetic appearance, from costume to make-up to hairstyling to production design to cinematography! - Best Movie Poster of 2017: what is your favourite poster for a film released in 2017? what advertisement has grabbed your interest the most?! Let's go *.* Categories: BEST FILM (up to 10 nominations) BEST MALE LEAD PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST FEMALE LEAD PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST MALE SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST FEMALE SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST DIRECTOR (up to 5 nominations) BEST MALE OR FEMALE NEWCOMER (up to 5 nominations) BEST ENSEMBLE (up to 5 nominations) BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE ENTIRE YEAR (up to 5 nominatinos) MOST ATTRACTIVE ACTOR 2017 (up to 5 nominations) MOST ATTRACTIVE ACTRESS 2017 (up to 5 nominations) BEST ANIMATED FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST VOICE PERFORMANCE: MALE (up to 5 nominations) BEST VOICE PERFORMANCE: FEMALE (up to 5 nominations) BEST ACTION FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST COMEDY FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST HORROR FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST DRAMA FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCI-FI/THRILLER FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCORE (up to 5 nominations) BEST SONG (up to 5 nominations) BEST SOUNDTRACK (up to 5 nominations) BEST CHARACTER (up to 5 nominations) BEST HERO (up to 5 nominations) BEST MOVIE COUPLE (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCENE IN A MOVIE (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCRIPT (up to 5 nominations) BEST ADAPTATION OF A SOURCE MATERIAL (up to 5 nominations) BEST LOOK & STYLE (encompassing costume, make-up, hairstyling, production design, cinematography) (up to 5 nominations) BEST VISUAL EFFECTS (up to 5 nominations) BEST POSTER FOR A MOVIE RELEASED IN 2017 (up to 5 nominations) MOST UNDERRATED FILM (up to 5 nominations) BIGGEST BOX OFFICE SUPRISE (up to 5 nominations) BIGGEST BOX OFFICE DISASTER (up to 5 nominations) Members Nominated: BlackSquare Cameron Dexton Harve JackJones Jahq Jason Joe Jonjo Josh Michael PopChartFreak Regina Sam Severin Theo |

Hoping this goes well this year! These are always busier than the retro Oscars so ik I'm being ambitions but I'd love if we could pull in 20+ voters considering more people seem to have joined that like movies & some film threads have been pretty busy recently! Remember you can nominate still if you have seen as little as one film <3
so hype away! <3 |

I nominated. 'Human Flow' and 'The Midwife' are films that aren't in any of the above lists and were both great. Idk if anyone else has seen them though.

For the nominated members category, is that for who is most active in Movies, or those most likely to win, or is that a mod nominated award?

For the nominated members category, is that for who is most active in Movies, or those most likely to win, or is that a mod nominated award? That's not a category!! 😂 That's for where we put the list of members that have voted to keep track of who's votes we have (which reminds me that I'll update that later tonight!) |
