Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (2011)
Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way (2010) Robbie Williams - Shame (2010) Madonna - Celebration (2009) Take That - Love Love (2011) Leona Lewis - Trouble (2012) Christina Aguilera - Keeps Getting Better (2008) Kelly Rowland - Lay It On Me (2011) Jennifer Lopez - I’m Into You (2011) Kelly Clarkson - Heartbeat Song (2015) Mariah Carey - Beautiful (2013) I’ve listed some of the (still active) artists who Radio 1 won’t play and the last time they were added onto the playlist. Who (if any) would be most likely to be added in future? And who is at risk of joining them soon? |

I've heard Heartbeat Song a few times recently - Scott seems to be a big fan of it. I think Kelly is still played despite the fact maybe the most recent of her songs haven't done - as far as I'm aware she's only had Piece By Piece that's not been added that could've been?

when was the last time Alexandra Burke was playlisted? forgot when it was that R1 decided they didn't like her (definitely before Start Without You anyway).

The one that surprises me is Britney, as her next 2 singles after 'Hold It Against Me' were huge on US radio. I'd have expected Christina's 'Not Myself Tonight' to get some support too, even if it ultimately wasn't well-received. Have Kelly Rowland or Mariah even released any pop singles since 2011/2013? (As great as 'Dirty Laundry' and 'You Don't Know What To Do' are)

She had 'Love So Soft', the lead single to her last album ('Meaning Of Life', released last October). It got decent airplay in the US, but didn't get a Spotify push so it didn't make much noise otherwise.

They don't play Liam or Noel Gallagher's solo material, which surprises me when Foo Fighters are still deemed fine.
Slightly different but what irks me is their snub of any Eurovision artist. I get their reasoning a lot of the time (genre doesn't fit etc) but snubbing Euphoria in 2012 was completely ridiculous, it was the biggest hit around Europe for a few weeks, a popular and well-received top three hit here, and was sonically suitable for the playlist. There was no single reason not to playlist it apart from snobbery. |

If it had held up chart-wise better than it had they might have formally added it a week or two later perhaps. They did play it about 6 times in the week after ESC so it wasn't completely snubbed. |

I agree that Noel Gallagher is a suprising omission, I think he should be playlisted.
Poor Marina is now snubbed after Power and Control had a vaccum of support. |

I suppose she hasn’t really released anything since, but I would be amazed if they supported her new era. I think Lady GaGa and Katy Perry are probably the next to go unless either has a HUGE comeback. |

There was a time when R1 really loved Lostprophets, but I haven't heard any of their songs get played for years... for obvious reasons.
