Just watched the teaser, and I'm actually really excited for it to start again!

It was beginning to feel like a chore making it to the end of season 2, but I'm hoping that they bring storylines to the forefront with season 3 that fans actually care about / want to see develop. The Serpents storyline got so boring last season, and it just made for such an unlikeable character in Jughead. Also hoping that Hiram's storyline doesn't last much longer either, but I feel like that's going to be the main event (as long as there's a satisfying conclusion, I can put up with it).

Rooting for Toni and Cheryl heart.gif

Starts this week! biggrin.gif

Jughead's mother and sister have been cast. Gladys Jones will be played by Gina Gershon (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Jellybean 'JB' Jones will be played by Trinity Likins.

Literally.

The first episode was promising and had me interested to see what was going to happen this season, but it's all gone to shit after the second episode. This 'Gargoyle King' thing is verging a completely new level of silly. drama.gif There's just no realism about the show, and the supernatural elements are just... weird.

Quite a creepy episode this week. Couldn't care less for the prison scenes though and Archie's holier than thou act. We need more Kevin/Moose scenes!

Am I the only person who thinks all these American Horror Story-lite plotlines are just a way to introduce Sabrina later on? They are in the same universe after all.

From what I understand they are initially trying to keep Sabrina as a separate show although maybe they'll tie it in briefly next week as an introduction?

Yeah this isn’t even riverdale anymore, it’s just a joke of a programme

The only thing keeping me interested is the constant gratuitous shirtless Archie scenes

That's probably the only reason I'm continuing to watch now tbh laugh.gif

This season just doesn't seem to be getting any better at all; the third episode was probably just as bad as the first two. None of the current storylines are interesting or realistic so I'll probably give it until the mid-season finale to see if it's worth sticking with any longer.

The idea of cults recruiting teenagers isn’t a realistic issue?

Well yeah, that in itself is a very realistic issue, but this take on it just seems to be reaching. Maybe I need to give it more of a chance, but to go from a genuine serial killer murder mystery to a propped-up pile of sticks lurking in the woods, etc... hmm.

It might still have murder mystery elements judging from the parents' involvement in the game. It might be a cross between I Know What You Did Last Summer and My Soul To Take, just with psychological elements and urban legends/conspiracies instead of something more tangible, let alone physical.

Games like Slender and Wick are better examples.

I'm not sure how I feel about the gargole king storyline. Aside from that Veronica continues to be my favourite character. Finally daily comment on how the f*** is Josie meant to be a main character??

Ashleigh and Casey are series regulars yet their characters get f*ck all screen time drama.gif (even Sweetpea has gotten more screen time than Josie)

-

Alice talked about how everyone in the Midnight club grew to be strangers and hadn’t crossed paths until they all went back to Riverdale and their children became friends, but there was no mention of what happened to Darrell Doiley or Reggie’s dad (though the present day implications are self-explanatory). Maybe this would be a good time to explore either Reggie’s backstory or how Dilton’s family is coping with his death?

I think whoever put those drinks there was trying to scare the kids straight because their LARPing was becoming a nuisance and would eventually go too far, but Alice didn’t drink anything since she was pregnant with Chic and who knows what kind of drugs were spiked in those chalices? But I still think there are cult leader tendencies there, and the Gargoyle King noticed how easily impressionable teens were, so they exposed the game to the next generation, disguising possible deaths as a “suicide pact”. So clearly Alice and FP didn’t do a good job with eradicating the game since it has now targeted all the teens in Riverdale.

I struggle to understand how Josie is a regular when she has had no character development whatsoever. Toni also upgraded to a regular this series and has appeared in 2 scenes in the previous episode and a spot appearance at a pool party in ep 1 laugh.gif

This show has gone absolutely insane, yet I'm kind of here for it! It's a lot more entertaining than Season 2.

At least Toni has a storyline aka her relationship with Cheryl.
